China defy US, comes out in open defence of Iran

the sunflower seeds is irrelevant. the opening of a new trade rouote that cuts trade by 20 days from sea is significant. not only does it open a good trade route, it sends a diplomatic message at a time where trump is puffing his chest and saying iran Is going to face the worse sanctions known.

this is also strategic as it avoids sea trade that can be blocked by either the US navy in wartime, or thru sanctions on shipping insurance.

no need to be cynical about everything.
Its very important what you are importing . if it was wheat or something like that I wouldn't said anything but sunflower seed ?
And this shipment pass 2 to 3 country and can be intercepted far easier.

lol.......hack hook you are a character......lol.......first it was going thru underwear on why the Su-34 carrying drop tanks drama, now its sunflower seeds?.......lol

Go watch baboon eat sunflower seed video.....

And who would 'intercept' sunflower seeds? you mean Su-34 with drop tanks gonna come down and attack this train?...............or hungry people stop the train to eat sunflower seeds?

Have you ever wondered that just maybe these sunflower seed going to Africa? or other countries when Iran re-export them? Have you seen the shipping manifest?

well, I say let see the video of Iranian sunflower seeds being eaten by Baboons , in Cinemas.
more importantly the main use of it is not giving it to baboons for eating its used for producing cooking oil.
and sadly its years we are trying to made people Oils based on Rapeseed or Sesame or Olive for their cooking (Specially Rapeseed which is financially a lot easier for normal people and also its remain can be used for cows and
poultry)and now this which is insignificant compared to what we use in the industry but if it became a habit then what happened to our textile industry will happen to our farmers.

by the way that shipment worth peanut and it never was part of sanction , when I see something export to Iran sanctioned and then delivered by this route I agree with you .and i hope the next delivery be something aside from chewing gums and nail polishes .

fair enough bro.........

The remarkable fact - something even apparent to most lay observers on PDF that if you insist [strongly recommend you don't] on going against USA/Israel then the only country on earth who might give you some comfort is China. This obvious fact escapes Tehran. But then they also insist on going against USA/Israel. Lesson here. You running into headwinds blowing from Washington/Tel Aviv best you best slip into the Chinese wake. Tehran needs to invest heavily into China, financially, militarily, diplomatically. Once it has built enough lobby in Beijing there is not much Uncle Sam can do.

@AmirPatriot

I'm all for further cooperation with China. We have to see what comes out of these talks. If a substantive partnership is to be formed with China, this is a critical point.

These are the advantages for China (as well as a few other things). Iran also needs a secure financial and trade channel for 1. Loans 2. Exports 3. Investment. We cannot thrive as long as the world financial system relies on the dollar and is thus controlled by the US.

China is the very reason that there is a North Korea and Kim Jong-un visited China twice in 10 days, it doesn't seems someone is dumped.

NK exists thanks to USSR. Yes China supported NK in the last few decades but now it has dumped NK to ensure THAAD is not installed in SK closer to Chinese borders.

A free history class, N.Korea was virtually taken by US and their troops went all the way to the Chinese border, China sent troops to push US back south of 38 parallel. Now China is N.Korea's only lifeline, almost all their trade is with China and China provides it with food, oil,commodities.. basically everything they need is from China, what kind of dumping is this?

I know that but USSR's role was instrumental.

The Soviet Union
Despites its denials at the time, the Soviet Union was intimately involved in the Korean War. The contribution made by the Soviets was vital. They provided diplomatic support, strategic and grand tactical planning, including the planning of the invasion of South Korea, and essential logistical support. They supplied and trained the air forces of China and North Korea. Soviet pilots flew aircraft with Chinese or North Korean markings and after the war claimed to have shot down over 400 UN aircraft.

North Korea, China and the USSR
The three communist nations which went to war with the United Nations were North Korea, China and the Soviet Union...

This photograph was taken between 25 October 1950 and 5 November 1950 during the battle of Huang Chaolin. This is one of a number of Chinese propaganda photographs intending to show the co-operation between the two communist allies. Donor R. Cashman. [AWM P02758.003]

North Korea
In June 1950 North Korea launched 223,000 soldiers supported by 150 tanks across the border into South Korea. The North Korean People’s Army (KPA) was a conventional army equipped with Russian tanks, artillery and tactical aircraft. Many North Korean soldiers were hardened veterans of the war against Japan and the Chinese Civil War. KPA soldiers were well trained and equipped. Tactics were based on Soviet doctrine which emphasised rapid advances spearheaded by armoured and infantry assaults. The quality and power of the KPA’s initial invasion resulted in its opponents being forced back to the southern tip of the Korean peninsula. When Inchon and Seoul were recaptured by United Nations (UN) forces the KPA’s supply line was cut and it could not resist the powerful UN counter attack which followed. A hasty and disorganised retreat caused massive casualties and materiel losses for the KPA. The KPA reorganised following the Chinese intervention and for the remainder of the war the KPA played a much-reduced role in operations.

During the Korean War the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army (PVA) sent two million soldiers to Korea. The PVA was a light infantry army having only a limited number of heavy weapons such as artillery, very few anti-aircraft guns, and no armoured vehicles. Compared to the UN forces it faced, the Chinese army was primitive in its communications, logistics and medical infrastructure.

A PVA Infantry Division numbered 10,000 soldiers. The initial 35 Divisions committed to Korea were well equipped but later units had to send men into battle armed only with grenades. Nevertheless, the Chinese soldier was a tenacious and formidable enemy. The average Chinese soldier was physically tough and committed to his cause. His officers were competent and experienced. Chinese tactics relied on overwhelming the enemy with numbers. The Chinese frequently launched human wave assaults against their foes, considering that losses were secondary to achieving battlefield success.
