We will be in SCS only to protect our assets there is no other reason other than that.

When the requirement is there, for example, in situations where our country's interests are involved, for example ONGC ... we will be required to go there and we are prepared for that," Joshi told a news conference.

"Now, are we preparing for it? Are we having exercises of that nature? The short answer is yes," he said.

Pakistan held Kashmir is a disputed region and for a 3rd party like China to involve itself in such a fashion it only adds fire to the fuel. China should not interfere in Kashmir as it is a very sensitive issue and I hope the new CCP leaders are wise to understand this so we can further ties between our countries.

Indian government whines a lot with its concerns. At least have some sense on who you are going to show concerns to.

Its mater of national security. Infrastructure development by China can be used by it and open a western flank against India if Pakistan allows, which it probably will, if Indo-China war happens. Its legitimate concern. According to International norms, its a disputed territory, no matter what India or Pakistan thinks, China has to follow International norms.

Same way Pakistan object Indian presence in Afghanistan which is also infrastructure development. Its a legitimate national security concern.

Okay. But what is the use of showing such concern? What will be the end result? China will stop construction?

Concern is one thing demanding officially to stop such development work is entirely different.

While in case of Afghanistan, Pakistan never asked India to stop work there. Its a free country anyone can invest there.

Pakistan is a free country and Indian official objection is nothing more than just whining once in a year at election time.

Never knew Afghanistan is disputed lol

Its a diplomatic move. After this, India can move in SCS and work with Vietnam over same premise. After all it is also a disputed territory.

Its called preparing the suitable environment, conditioning of world's opinion.

Take any third country, lets say Canada, we say China is developing infrastructure in disputed territory according to international norms, so we can also do the same in SCS.

Remember, WMD propaganda. Its all about generating world's opinion. Its about repeating same thing over and over again to make world aware of the tit for tat situation.
