CFR meeting with Zarif where Zibakalam asks his question as well. Interesting but unfortunately only in Farsi! (August 4th):

May be Iranian Forum members can give some insight for non Farsi speaking members. I am now listening to it and will do my best from tomorrow to write important points.

Kharazi (Head of CFR), starts by saying CFR advises Khamenei (the leader) in foreign policy and also that what has happened should be taught in school as a new phenomena and method and is a great achievement. He says Iran had several eras. One era where she ignored what west was saying and developing his abilities. Our development and success was a shock to west and proved the point that Iran is capable of doing what he plans for. He mentions the centrifuge developments as a part of this era. He called this era the "Resistance era" , He mentioned the developments and the political stability of Iran allowed us to go into negotiations with a better hand. I guess he later defines the next era as the negotiation era! ...

He mentions we should be realistic, we have the capacity to face the problems and we made this gathering to use your help (audiences help which are university professors). We have invited Dr. Zarif, Araghchi and Ravanchi to enlighten us about the path ahead and wish you to participate in defining this path.

... I need to go back to coding. Will post more if I can (notes till 15 minutes he speaks very slowly! needs something to eat!)

Ok, I listened to it all. I think Zarif is delusional thinking because Iran was powerful, US and 5+1 came to negotiations! I believe it was Obama's Doctrine that triggered the negotiations. When Obama administration signaled that they are willing to negotiate 2 years ago during Ahmadinejad's administration IR jumped on the wagon unlike 2009. It is plain and simple. This meeting had some points but it was mere propaganda for the regime. Only two asked serious questions. Time is required to burst the bubble of these negotiations and put things in perspective.
