Can India be cunning?

Acting out of pride and emotion is a fool's journey.

Exactly, we must be selfish and arrogant. Only our national interest matters, nothing else. Not even the ego of a super-power matters.

Alienating friends, particularly powerful friends, over relatively minor disagreements, is neither selfish nor arrogant.

There are no friends in geopolitics. US alienated it's "not-so-powerful friend" when it's state department ordered "Arrest and Cavity Search" of a "friendly" country's diplomat over a minor disagreement. Even Vietnam did not care about the capabilities of that "powerful country" when it came down to it's national pride and freedom of it's people.

The minor disagreement started after "it's diplomats in Bangladesh got caught red handed in the Chittagong Arms haul case", the weapons were destined for a terror group operating in the NE region of India and the US embassy in Bangladesh was facilitating it. Also the US tried to blackmail us after we got hold of a Weapons ship inside our territorial waters, by taking our diplomat hostage (Legal blah blah). Unfortunately one of the crew members succeeded in killing himself in the third attempt. Indian response was well calculated, selfish and arrogant and it must have been.

Your lack of understanding regarding how the US system works is why you feel the way you do. But again, nobody in the US even heard about such a minor issue, yet it was front-page hysteria in India.

Maturity will come with time and experience on the world stage.

I agree, US made a mature decision when it funded Taliban only to get it's soldiers killed later in Afghanistan? Or when it breastfed Al-Qaeda during 80s only to suffer 9/11?

US actively funded and supported the Khalistan movement and insurgency in India's NE states. So mature huh!

We are chanakyans but we dont hit out enemies first

Yes I have watching Mahabarat on TV and it seems you Indians do a hell of a lot of talking and never actually get around to fighting.

Its TV for godsake ... what do you expect them to do ??

I see this in all TV shows on the Hindu religion such as Mahabarat and Mahadev. It seems that Indians following the Hindu religion are taught to be cunning and guileful and seek to deliberately mislead and be deceitful and only fight when the enemy is so confused and disorientated that they cannot put up any resistance. While good tactics it shows an inherent weakness.

They spice up the TV shows, you must read the books to understand it properly ... there are many literature books

They are Indians. They are born cunning.
You are Bangla, you are a born pole bolter. Try Olympics

Just because Chanakya was an Indian doesn't mean Indians will carry on those attributes.

Sun Tzu was Chinese, yet it was the Imperial Japanese Army that used Sun Tzu's philosophies to butcher us during WW2.
Chanakya / Sun Tzu - both were at a time when we were pretty much a homogenous history. We did not have westerners cutting up our countries and play havoc with aliances, conniving treaties, debaucheries, et al. When the colonialists came into a loosely referred "Hindoostan" or "Indie", we were already bitten apart by the princely states, confedaracies, sultanates and protectorates. What Chanakya taught was lost upon many Indians for almost 2-3 centuries. In China's case, I would imagine something similar happened till, the resurgence of Sun Tzu's strategies were made into an international best seller back in the early 90s .
