And as usual the moderate liberal majority of Turkey will remain silent when the ultra religious minority spreads its wings just like in Pakistan.

Nothing but a PR tactic from YPG. These clowns are more valuable to YPG alive, as hostages, than dead.

''Not as secular'... Do you even know what your talking about, as per law Turkey is one of the few countries that declared laicite.
And for that I always have admired the Turks, but after Erdogan came in power there is a downward spiral in Turkeys relations with other NATO members.
Some laws that Erdogan wants in Turkey is contrary to secularism.

.
Why a trouble for the region ??? We are gonna bury them to ground with the rest of their terrorist friends, no problem.

Pakistan will help you gladly. Turkey's enemy is Pakistan's enemy.

Misplaced priorities.

Indians are burning cinemas over a film (Padmaavat) in India and you're worried about Turkiye.

Many Turkish women wear mini-skirt. The Turks don't have this west/east dichotomy because Istanbul is the "West". The Turks have entirely differant interpretation of Islam - for lack of better term they have "European Islam" along Bosnian Muslims, Tatars, Bashkirs, etc in Russia. In Pakistan we have "Desi Islam". Etc etc.

This war is not about mini-skirts, jeans or body parts.

Every Turk including religious or liberal condemns the terror force being armed and financed by the US and the West. All Turks are fiercely united against Kurds and their desire for Kurdistan. There is a reason why the Turks acted so swiftly and bombed the crap out of this tyrannical US sponsored army. It poses a grave threat to Turkey's territorial integrity. Religion has zero relevance with this conflict. The West doesn't approve Turkey's stance to have friends in the East and West. Turkey's cosying up with Russia and China is an absolute thorn in the eyes of the West. The West seeks a subservient Turkey which nods at every command. The Turks are fiercely patriotic. They will never allow anyone to dictate them.

Let me give you a guarentee. The Turks won't compromise on the Kurdish issue. The West can try to use this to stoke a conflict, but this will come to haunt them very badly.

Will these brits not be treated as lunatic terrorist extremist and stripped of their UK citizenship? Or is fighting for a secular terrorist western backed organization is perfectly ok? If they would be this selective always, then should they not more aptly re-frame "war on terror" as simply "war on Islam".

The Kurds is a classic example of how image can be re-constructed. Kurds are a tribal, Muslim peoples with culture that has elements of misogyny. For instance Female Genital Mutilation is found within the Kurdish society.

Yet today in the West the Kurds are a people who can't do anything wrong - they are almost as favoured as the Jews. Here the Kurds face a modern, liberal secular Turkey that is member of NATO but all the tears are reserved for the Kurds.

Lesson for Pakistani's here.

Posting just for the sake of educating you.......again.: The YPD/SDF are a leftist terrorist org. that is ideologically secular and hates Islam. SO NO they were never muslim to begin with. And the way they constructed their image in the mind of gullible westerners is by using western vernaculars of "gender equality", female empowerment and all that rubbish while posting some images of "courageous" YPG whores in the field of battle with rocket launchers and snipers. They efffectively sold themselves to be cannon fodder of US imperial agenda in syria. None of that is against their materialist secular ideology.

On the other hand if the Pakistani state is ought to use the tactic of kurdish terrorist (who slaughtered 40000 civilians and targeted non-kurds in syria for genocide)- to win the hearts and minds of liberal westerners, as you advocate -it would mean to officially become an anti-islamic mad dog of the west and spit on the values and beliefs that PAK population holds dear. I am NOT entirely convinced that ordinary Pakistanis will accept that. But then again you can try to "civilize" your fellow countrymen if you want. You are on a "civilizing mission" after all.

Ironic, considering britain is to blame most for the tragedy of the kurds.A british bureaucrat randomly drew up borders in the middle east to create artificial borders ignoring the presence of established ethnic minorities and spread out the kurds over 4 nations, and they are a minority in all 4.Its understandable why they are pissed. They just got a dealt a bad hand by fate.Hopefully issues can be resolved in the countries they now reside in with peace .Middle east is a mess as it is.

Kurds are one on those people who never had a nation in the first place, there have been Kurdish leaders but never a Kurdish state of significance.

The Western world doesn't hide its desire to reshape the world map. They drew the world map during their colonization era. Today they are pulling their hair. It is indeed brutally ironic how the Brits participate in all these wars.

Yes I agree, and I would like to keep Turkey like that.
But Mr Erdogan may have other plans in his mind.
And as usual the moderate liberal majority of Turkey will remain silent when the ultra religious minority spreads its wings just like in Pakistan. Now I would not like Turkey to be like Pakistan.

You say as india turns increasingly hindutva
