Back then Maharashtra's only muslim CM Abdul Rehman Antulay was a big supporter of Dawood Ibhrahim since both of them were form the same village and from the same community.

Any South Indian believing that Madrasi is a slur should get his history correct. Before Independence, Hyderabad was a black hole for rest of India (Its Nizam got some chevrons on evilness), and bar some small kingdom like Mysore and Travencore, ALL South Indians were Madrasis. Calling South Indian ,Madrasis, was a perfectly logical way of addressing them pre-independence.

And btw, this term is not much popular nowadays.
