In AP it's Kamma,Kapu,Reddy,Rajus who have fat dowries.
LoL Right now normal dowries are if you are a engineer it's starts from 25 lakhs ,for a doctor it's 1 crore just an example it will go upwards according to the families involved.
In Tamilnadu i hear chettiar and some castes have high dowries, donno about them.
kerala brides are decked with gold and jewellery i guess this is true in every south Indian marriage.Tamil Nadu more i guess.

My point is, importing brides is a band aid. I think you will agree that this Dowry system has to stop. That the anti-female culture has to stop.

Well the girls themselves wants to be decked out in jewelry. My sister rarely wore any jewelry throughout her adult life but at her marriage she wanted to be decked out in jewelery...she paid a large portion of it from her salary itself..but that what she wanted at her marriage...May be its a girl thing or may be she doesn't want to feel small in front of her future in laws or friends but after the marriage almost all the jewelry went to bank lockers and she as before wears minimal jewelry.

I don't have a problem when the bride wants it herself.

Dowry system where you extort from the brides family is a bad thing,i am against it,(You are marrying the girl not her money)
.Some people get their "pound of flesh" as dowry.Agreed it should go.
But Nowadays everyone has 2 kids at most or single kid and they save everything for their marriage and if they wish to gift their daughter that way,it shouldn't be a problem

Yeah importing brides is a temporary measure, they have to address the real problem of female infanticide.
Now with the PNDT act, its difficult to determine the sex of a child in pregnancy as revealing it could lead to jail for the doctor and cancellation of his/her medical license.Due to such steps there has been a huge decrease in such abortions
Also nuclear families mean that even if they have 2 daughters they are looked after well.

Btw, I am not against importing any Malyali brides to AP, some of them are very Good looking

They are clever,They will do 50% of work and the rest will be gone into their coffers, in the end atleast they did 50% of the work and for normal people,"Something is better than Nothing"
Another reason is we don't have those communists in majority here, they were a big factor some 30 years ago but they lost their support and majority when AP started specialised Grey Hounds to hunt Naxalites and their collaborators
Otherwise, if We had the same situation as kerala with communists our place would have been worse than kerala,atleast kerala people go to gulf for employment, ours won't go anywhere.
