What's new

Biryani: Hindu or Muslim ?

. .
This is also corruption.

Maybe it will catch on.

You are just grumpy all the time

Corruption is built right into the system, that is the beauty of it. I am not grumpy, I see things for what they are, that is all. (I stopped being grumpy a long time ago.) :D

(I wish I had biryani for dinner, but tonight was a pizza and football night.)

I hope your team won.

But the system can auto correct itself on s populist drive

What populist drive? A plate of biryani is enough to buy a vote and keep the system strongly in place. :D

. By the way I am acutely aware that we have food inside Pakistan from differant regions that is "ours" and nothing to do with Gangoo Indians. In a business meeting I was 'obliged' to go to expensive "Punjab Restaurent" in heart of London's Covent Garden which is by Sikhs. The food is rubbish. I was like 'yuck' and the prices were fit for royalty. The fact is I know most restaurents or should I say the best restaurents are Pakistani but that does not count jack. The brand themselves as Indian. If owners of a establishment call it Indian do you think customers are going to go around saying "I ate at Pakistani restaurent Pakistani food"? No.
I dont know what you are talking about because you can easily judge a Pakistani restaurent by its name . Indian and Pakistani share certain foods (mostly vegeterian stuffs) thats why they mention tags Indian,Halal, asian food along with Pakistani and some even mention Afghan as well because serve kabli pilau and others pashtun naans. Just look at names of these Pakistani restaurant in london. Do these names sound like Indian to you? Read their description as well

You read "taste of Lahore " and can easily guess that owner will be from Pakistani Punjab

Not a huge fan of Indian food personally.

I am not great fan of South Indian specialties myself because of too much masala. It is a question of personal taste. Nevertheless I would try it to see how it is. But food in the old city of Delhi & in Agra is excellent.

Never had a chance to visit Lukhnow because despite having UK Passport Indian visa is always restricted to the specified cities. I would love to taste ‘Ghalawat Kebab’ at Tunday Kebabia. Read so much about it in the Urdu literature.

Hyderbadi food is available in Karachi, but I would like to go Hyderabad Deccan and like to taste their 'Bahagrey baigan' as cooked by the experts and also see the famous Char Minaar.

I admit that gluttony is one my vices, hence I weigh 96 kilos even though at 5 ft 11, I should be no more than 80 to 81 kilos.
