Striver is Indian posing as an Indonesian. He can’t speak bahasa Indonesian and never criticized India.

And what? Their videos show the reality of China that anyone can see with their own eyes. I’ve watched them and they are basically just showing the cities and main places of interest that I’ve seen. So basically if showing reality is propaganda to you then that’s pretty sad. I’m sure you are dying of jealousy because india is nowhere as developed as China is.
Agree. The “propaganda” is a neutral word. Unless people distort truths and fabricate lies.
Since all the British youtubers showed are truths, this kind of propaganda are fine.

It would be like if they went to an American suburb and took videos of themselves walking on the streets to show how nice the neighborhoods are and how the US is not a shithole. That’s basically what they are doing in most of their videos, just showing reality.

I believe he is an Indonesian muslim. I understand mindset of some muslims. The thing they hate most is not some muslims being killed or anything like that. The biggest evil in their mind is what they believe China is doing. Making muslims less islamic. This is worse than killing them.

While you are right that many Indonesians may hate Chinese people but he is clearly Indian. He can’t speak Bahasa Indonesian, not even the simplest sentence, I’ve asked him to identify himself in a simple recording many times and he can’t do it.

If he is a young Indonesian posting on an international English language board that means he has had basic education and can definitely speak bahasa Indonesian.

As an Indian I would say, the Chinese should encourage more people to post such " propaganda" videos, warts and all. It will lead to a better understanding of their civilization and less fear of the unknown.
Eg I have noted that videos of Indian vloggers from China posting in regional Indian languages have a healthy dose of discussion on the Chinese nation, mostly expressing awe or curiosity. Most commenters are obviously from rural areas and they will often ask to post rural areas of China, modes of agriculture/animal husbandry/horticulture there with the intention of learning applicable methods.( But English speaking Indians will often have caustic comments)
China should give grants to 3rd world nations to make educational group trips to China..the goodwill it will bring them will last a generation.
We grew up thinking the Chinese govt shot their aged parents once they become a liability..but the internet has slowly lifted the veil inspite of the Bamboo Curtain. Now many know the Chinese are no different from us with similar hopes and aspirations in life courtesy such " propaganda" videos.

Cultural power is more powerful than any propaganda. Chinese dramas and Tik tok videos are very popular in India and many other Asian countries. When people watching Chinese dramas, they pretty much know every aspect of Chinese real living status. Paying money on cultural power is the right thing China should do.

when the pandemic is over, buy yourself the air ticket and make a fly to China. The hotel could be booked via airbnb or ctrip.com, quite easy. Language wise, at least the young-generation could speak (some) English, also not a big issue. Safety wise, China is the safest place on the earth, no problem to even a lady who walks alone 2am on the street.

You can visit almost every part of China, rich or poor, urban or rural, developed or less developed, as long as you have the time and money.

FME most Indians who have been to China are very surprised and realize that Chinese people are friendly and China is much more developed than they thought. But the Indian media insists on taking a very hostile tone.

For example, a couple months ago I saw this video of an Indian guy hitchhiking in China. He crossed over from Mongolia. He was helped along the way by regular workers, treated with decency. A lot of people went out of their way to help him. If he did the same in a Western country, he'd probably just get ignored.

China is nowhere near Korea in soft power. It should definitely invest more money into it.
