Jhenidah, July 2 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained five Bangladesh nationals while they were intruding into Indian territory through Jululi border in Mohespur upazila of the district on Monday.

Three of them hail from the district while the rest two from Magura district.

Nayek subedar Hafiz, commander of Jululi camp of Mohespur BGB, said the border guard members caught five people, including a child and a woman, from Dublupuri field area of the border around 3pm while they were entering India illegally.

Later, they were handed over to Mohespur thana.

Seriously, if BGB keeps this up, BSF would stop becoming a villain. Lets hope this keep up.

AND she decided to take her child along for the job? Women are rarely found in the profession- that isn't the most gender neutral region when it comes to even shady activities. Either way they were stopped. I wouldn't have liked the thought of our guards having to shoot at them while a child was in their company.

May be I should have added a smiley! Meant as a joke. I have heard of women drug dealers in India though.

And probably they would not have been shot at. If I remember correctly, there recently has been a restriction on BSF regarding shooting.

most of the cases those are not illegal migrants who want to live in India, those are victims of people smuggling who do not even know that they are going to India by Dealers. Recently heard a news that a dealer took a girl from village saying that he/she give her job in dhaka. But dealer took her in india, her family is now crying.

Where was the dealer from- an Indian could not have promised a job in Dhaka?

Illegal immigration has stopped to a large extent because of the fencing- only the smugglers or a few migrants are willing to go through the through that.

Hmmm..so this is apart from the cow smuggling apparatus? Lots of shady stuff at the border.

But at least the BGB has finally made a start- hopefully it will follow through after this in the foreseeable future in the same vein.

who knows some of those cow smugglers may also involved in this issue, anyway other groups also works in human smuggling as far as i know

India should sponsor an international study to research on what kind of fences will actually be effective enough to keep the pole vaulters and the marde momins and the occasional romeo out on both sides of the border.
