Pakistanis are far too obsessed with the military's role in politics, it really is bad for health.
Just twenty years ago, Turkish and Indonesian militaries had far greater role, a constitutionally active role in politics, but no more. Why?

Because the civilian leadership in those countries started being responsible, acting like proper rulers, and they ruled responsibly, less infighting more about policies and results.
Look at the Turkish and Indonesian economies, both have very mature economies, if Pakistan was in the same position, Pakistan would be a contender for superpower status.
