Pak PM Nawaz Sharif to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony

Are you saying that there is no tension between NS & the army? Seriously? Would like to know your opinion on how strong NS is and whether you think he will really be able to get the army on board a peace process where Pakistan will probably have to walk back substantially from its stated positions?

currently NO. Not much.

secondly why would Pakistan walk back from its stated position ? NS is strong enough and have backing of Army to hold peace process on equal footing. If something reached where both India and Pakistan walk back on their respective stated positions then indeed Army and Pakistani public will back it.

Can you answer the same question if Modi is strong enough to get Indians onboard where India will probably have to walk back substantially from its stated position ????

sounds more like .... after taking permission from all important institutions of Pakistan. Anyway I am not frustrated at all infact I am happy at this development, Modi cleverly side stepped the "No Precondition to the talks". Modi can speak his mind and give Nawaz a "to-do" list before bilateral talks take place.

:) You indians day dream. and we will accept the to-do list? funny. we will throw it in bay of bengal. Peace talks or dialogue is never one-sided.

Modi will be a strong leader but you do understand that India is the status quo power here. Pakistan seeks to change that status quo. It will have to be Pakistan reconciling itself to a much longer walk back from its positions (if it wants an agreement), Modi will not need to walk that much. The best that will ever be on offer are those agreed to but never implemented positions of the MMS-Musharraf deal.

What you do with the list is your prerogative, but Modi would set the conditions. The onus of taking the bilateral relation further would fall on you guys not us.

:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) for the bold part .

Indian is self-style status quo power. We dont need to reconcile one-sided :) and even Modi cant force us to do so

:) we always talked even if conditions were put by India its always you Indians who failed to act sensibly by beating WAR drums

Nope, you don't have to, but it is Pakistan that keeps on wanting talks on "core issues", not India. India would do fine even if there is no breakthrough whatsoever.

this time around how you act on conditions would determine if it's appropriate to talk or not. Failing to act on India's concern would put Pakistan in a puddle.

Why you even complaint? when Last time our Military president done a wonderful job we know what happened and what followed, your democratic PM crumbed under extremists'/hawks' pressure .

The invitation is symbolic and Indian media and Indian members here tried to play this card to accuse and abuse Pakistan army but you guys are now in hot after nothing or the sort happened which you were expecting.

But Jana ji if NS did not attend (and the whole of Pakistan knew he wanted to) what would they have thought? :whistle:that he was being blocked and the army would be made out to be the bad guy which when it comes to PR is bad press! so they played it smart and let him go.

It is NOT about Modi :) i wonder why even senior people like you sometimes lose your brain to emotions

:) indeed what MMS failed to do NS did .

Its a good move and our media wanted him to visit.

Its only about Modi because he is the face of the BJP now. Between the two of them starting 26th they shall run the nation & its policies.

it is not an individual decision never should be on part of any leader unless your entire nation is onbaord.

what and if both are speculative terms :) what matters is reality and the reality is that he was invited and he accepted

For indians it will be indeed all about Modi and his actions :) and is ee many expectation will dash to ground of extremists and hardliners at your end

And in your view will India now be granted MFN status? which has been promised for so long that is the real decider! will the military and the likes of JUD kick up a stink and prevent NS from granting it because I can see that happening.

Indian halting talks will NOT be anything new for us.

If by puddle you mean any attack or surgical strikes by India this time then you are just day dreaming :)

i feel if Pakistan can benefit from it we should BUT if its only beneficial for India then whats the need.

military has nothing to do with. NS should check his own allies he is even in a fix over Geo ;)

do u really think india care if there is any peace talk or nt between pak - india....
we already have siachin ...we have Kashmir. it ain't going abywhere....we have our stand on sir creek.... we have rivers in control.....so its dont matter much to us....
whereas Pakistan need talks on all these....and this is why Pakistan is desperate to find a solution over these issue....
we had no substantial talk with Pakistan from last 10 year and it didn't matter us at all....
u are spending 4-5% of ur gdp on.military where as we are spending only 1.7 % of it.....
so pressure is on u....nt us....
and
u are free to throw all pre conditions in arabian sea.....it don't matter to us at all....:)
