Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) leader Masoud Barzani has said Turkey sent arms to the Kurdish government in northern Iraq but requested that this not be made public. He also said Turkey is treating more than 400 people from the Democratic Union Party (PYD) who were wounded during the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s (ISIL) advance on the Kurdish town of Kobane in northern Syria.

Barzani told Sky News Arabic that Turkey was also among the countries that sent arms to the region when ISIL attacked Iraqi Kurdistan, adding that Turkey did not want this news to be announced.

“We have to tell the truth. On our first night when we were attacked by ISIL, Iran sent us two airplanes full of weapons. This was a great help for that moment … We would have expected it from Turkey too, and Turkey sent [arms] later but asked us not to announce it due to domestic conjuncture.

The presidential elections were near and ISIL was holding their hostages,” the KRG leader said.

Meanwhile, Turkey is treating some 422 PYD members injured in ISIL’s attacks, in the Suruç district of the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa. In addition to the civilians who fled from Kobane to Turkey, members of the PYD who have fought against ISIL since Oct. 4 and have been wounded in Kobane were also treated in Turkish hospitals.

High level military officers of the PYD are reported to be among the 422 PYD members being treated in Turkey.

Allegedly, the Suruç State Hospital, where the PYD members are being treated, is not serving civilians except in emergency cases, amid a massive patient increase over the past week.

Some 40 outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants who were wounded in fights against ISIL have also been brought to Turkey for medical treatment.

Propaganda... the islamist government in Turkey will do everything to please their fellow jihadi brothers.

I think everyone knew that Turkey is totally cool with KRG and Barzani, this isn't anything new. Their level of cooperation and Turkish investment in KRG before this whole conflict speaks for itself.

Turkey should be careful about not helping those stateless Kurds too much. They will turn on Turkey as we all know. They still dream about their Kurdistan. I don't know a single Kurd abroad that does not. You guys really think that this Tarazani figure would not like to rule Southeastern Turkey? Of course he would. They might tell you something else face to face though. They are foreigners to all the lands of tiny Northern and tiny Northern Syria. I think that Turks should migrate to Southeastern Turkey in larger numbers. Likewise the Arabs of Iraq already form 33-40% of KRG's population. They are not going to leave anywhere. If they can live all over Turkey and Iraq so should the Arabs and Turks do in "their" lands.

I don't understand why Turkey treats terrorists like PYD.

In Ayn Al Arab Turkey should just let the ISIS, YPG and PKK terrorists kill each other off. There are no civilians there anymore and those few that have not fled are asking for trouble themselves or either aiding 3 of those terrorist groups.

ISIS is full of Kurds anyway.

Its all about interest, KRG is a important investment place for Turkey and a cheap oil source, a stable KRG is in interest of Turkish economy and security.

But i also dont agree with treating ypg members, today the need us, tomorrow they will fight us.

Well all of PKK, YPG, PYD are just different names of Kurdish terrorist groups that all have the same wider goal. To create their "Kurdistan" and they are obviously against not only the Turks, and Arabs/Assyrians in Syria and Iraq but also the Iranians despite the Iranians here cheering for them when it suits them and crying about them when they attack Iran or are in wars with them.

If you have too many ties with them they will bite your hand. I sometimes don't get Erdogans policies at all.

I understand your relations with KRG but I am just saying that you should be cautious. I don't know a single Kurd that does not hate Turkey and Turks. Look at their forums, RUDAW etc.

The situations looks different when you look at avarage Kurds in Turkey, most of them living peacefully, just look at pkk, they have barely 5 thousand fighters out of a 14 million people.

Places like rudaw are hotspot of separatists.

:crazy::lol::rofl:

Unfortuantely the leadership of Kurds have always proven to be snakes. That's why they have always been stateless. They even fight against each other, have been in civil wars etc. Despite all having the same goal. "Kurdistan". They are much worse than Palestinians who are otherwise known for having some political disagreements despite also having the same goal. A Palestinian state. Much worse in fact.

"What did the Kurdish parties do on the day IS killed the best of our mujahideen, first in Azaz and then Aleppo after it? What was their stance on the day our mujahideen were besieged on Jabal Barsaya and 9 were martyred, among them Northern Storm commanders? Have we forgotten who let the Nusayri army enter Azaz from Qata' to break the siege of the Military Security? Have we forgotten who backstabbed us from behind on the day of the siege of Mannagh airbase? Have we forgotten who has torn up our land and announced its own separate government in Syria: the Kurdistan government. Why are you crying today over Kobani? And why must we support them? Civilians have not been killed in Kobani, but in it are the gangs of the Kurdish parties...the day has come for us take vengeance on them…"

As I said then they don't care about anything else other than their deluded Kurdistan. I would not trust their leaders at all. They have proven to be the utmost traitors not only in Iraq but also Syria. But in regards to FSA, SSA, Iraqi Sunni Arabs, Iraqi government etc.

They should return to their barren Pontic Steppe, Northwestern Iran or wherever the hell they came from instead of demanding lands from the natives, mass-murdering the ancient native Semitic Assyrians etc. I have a very good Assyrian friend and they can't stand them either. In that sense they are very similar to some of their "cousins".
