Bangladesh to observe one-minute blackout on March 25

Don't Know whether to laugh or cry at your post. A country that cannot build a normal 2 lane road is talking about being more developed than a country that has build 6 lane Motorway at 4000 feet above sea level which is higher than your highest hill which you call mountain in BD:lol:.

Keep repeating that per capita thing if it makes you sleep at night. Pakistan's per capita is 5400, BD is 4000ish. Plus your country is extremely corrupt probably 5 times more corrupt than Pakistan (Check Corruption rankings) so I think we will be okay not dealing with your country.

Feel free to laugh or cry as that is your choice.

Fact is that BD GDP/capita is growing at 6% a year while Pakistan is at just over 3% a year.
BD has been mainly held back by infrastructure and strikes in the past but this is no longer the case.

Tell me one other large country of more than 100 million+ population that is growing like this? Only India but that is because of some Modi "magic" after he came into power in 2014.

Let us look at infrastructure:

No less than Russia, China, Japan, IMF, ADB are investing billions each every year now in BD infrastructure and we can see the results with ongoing and approved projects such as Padma Bridge(BD), Padma Bridge Railway(China), Payra Coal Plant(China), Roopur Nuclear Power Plant(Russia), Dhaka Metro Rail(Japan), Matarbari Coal Plant and Port(Japan).

So you may not have much faith in BD but plenty of others do though.

PS - Please do not quote GDP growth as Pakistan has a higher population growth than BD.

Edit - As for corruption according to transparency international:

1. BD is at 143/180
2. Pakistan is at 117/180
3. India is at 81/180

For comparison Turkey is at 81/180

Remember BD was most corrupt back in early 2000s and so has made substantial improvement since then.

@Bilal9 bhai, actually didn't understand the part. Can you make it clear? maybe we don't need them but why do they need us?

Just watch their ARY TV and other channels and see how many discussions they have on 1971. Mostly older folks but the idea is that they had made serious mistakes. Every nation goes through some soul-searching after events like this. We have as well.

Eita Kiser sign bujhi nai! Mage er Master race theory r sathe chaler vat er ki holo!!

I meant how Pathans could be a master race denotes they ate better items....just a joke.

Pathans (as well as Baloch and other ethnicities in Pakistan itself) were all historically exploited by the Punjabis in power...and this is not saying all Punjabis are bad though.

However Punjabis are very partial to their own kind, on preferences of jobs, opportunities and education. This is essentially what caused a lot of discontent in East Pakistan before 1971. I hate to generalize, but most writers (even large numbers of independent thinkers in Bangladesh) wrote about this as the cause. This was not dealt with well by the Pakistani administration at all, hence hastening the split, which was undesirable by all concerned.

As a group Bangladeshis are the complete opposite, we refuse to help our own kind compared to a lot of Desis.

Actually most of prime Minister of pakistan (from 1947 to 1971 )was from East pakistan aka bangladesh.

And also about the military regime , most of military personnel were pathans not Punjabi.
It's our favorite and popular mistake that we love to believe that we were under panjabi rule.
But the reality is, west pakistan was under east pakistani aka Bengali rule most of time except the military regime.

Bigno, well said.

Oh all right bhai, understood now. Good explanation, thank you . :) .

Please do not compare what you thought was a rigged election with an election result in 1971 that was clearly won by BD(East Pakistan then) and no-one said it was rigged. Two situations are completely different as BD was engaged in a fight against becoming a colony of W Pakistanis.

BD(East Pakistan then) tried to take over power peacefully but all it got was bullets from an illegitimate army as the majority population of Pakistan lost all trust in the ruling regime. What was a dictator doing running a multi-ethnic country anyway?lol India may have it's faults but it knows that without democracy it will split into a thousand pieces very quickly.

W Pakistanis did not like to be ruled by Bengali's and so we made the decision to split and form our own country. You should have had the quality to let us go our own way in this case.

End of the day both countries lost as a Pakistan run by BD'shis(which was our natural right as the majority) would have been a much better country for it's citizens to this day - even though BD would have initiated a peaceful split by around 2000 IMO.

I totally stand by the establishment's decision to not let one ethnicity to take over the country and especially when the leader Sh Mujibur-Rehman was suspected by the establishment for his links to the enemy and the later events prove that establishment was totally right. As far as, Dhaka seceding from Pakistan, people of my generation are totally okay with it (well many don't even know about it or at least can't relate to it since we weren't even born then) and rather happy, as we think East and West Pakistan was an unnatural arrangement and eventually it would have dissolved at some point so it happened in 1971. The loss of life and how it happened was unfortunate because definitely our brothers got killed, not by Pakistan army but Mukti Bahni disguised in uniforms of PA and your bangla bon-doo played a heinous role in that and thus he paid later because that's the fate of traitors.

So you guys should forget and move forward but you guys are stuck with it like in a bad marriage.. We Pakistanis don't harbour any resentment against you but you people have a lot of pent up hatred.. get rid of that..open the eyes as the sea is rising.

You obviously do not understand the rule of majority that applies the world over, apart from places like Syria that are at war.
Keep believing that PA did not commit most of the atrocities if it
makes you feel better - rest of the world believes otherwise.

Let me add as a pakistani punjabi , most of us don't even know that bangladesh was east pakistan back in the days . We really cant relate to you other then that you are muslim majority country some where on the other side of india. And because we think of you as muslim country we generally do not hold ill feelings towards you, we wish you all the best and pray for your land to prosper.

As for all the bad we pakistanis have done to you , i think pakistan needs to apologize to the ppl of bangladesh because being honest mujib had won the Election so he should have been the pm. Unfortunely we have fucked up ppl at the helm of pakistani nation who cared more for ther big ego's and personal intrest then that of their nation.

I have a question. PTI led by Imran khan claimed in 2013 that election was rigged so should KPK province of Pak break away from Pakistan because KPK was won by PTI. The PML N a Punjab centric party won the election in 2013. If PML N would not have allowed to form Govt in Centre then should Punjab be allowed to break away from Pak.

Not allowing to from a Govt based on elections results is such a big thing that one part of the country should be allowed to break away from the rest of the country? There are Governal rules in many states/provinces of Pak and India in past but these states did not break away from rest of the country.

I have calculated the total tenure of Pakistan's democratically elected PMs rule. Out of 24 years 4 months, there were total Eight PMs who ruled Pakistan. They together ruled for 10 years 4 months and 6 days. Four Bengali PMs ruled for 4 years, 11 months and 14 days. Mathematically west pakistan PMs held the largest share of power. And some 2 years Bengali president Iskandar Mirza was superior to Ayub Khan's military regime. Too much unstable political scenario for a country. Which continued until recently. I think first the system was rigged by Iskander Mirza who bears blood from Mir Jafar. But he had a point, 85% illiterate mass shouldnt choose who should be in the driving seat of a country. We can see the illiterate mass curse in BD's every corner even today.
