What's new

Bangladesh is close to finalise a deal with China for six mega projects valued over $6 billion.

. .
$1.5 billion rampal power station.

Sure, please do try.

Just like how Chittagong Suburban is the best urban rail in S.Asia & Dhaka metro will be the best metro.
The project is funded to a certain portion by both India and BD...and the rest will be Bank loan. No India is not providing 1.5 billion dollars.

WRONG!
Bangladesh fund 15%, provides land and logistics, Bangladesh takes $1.5 LOAN (there no such thing india provides money) and pay penalty

India fund 15%, take 50% ownership and operation control. Kicker - India (along with awami proxy Sajeeb Wazed Joy) get to pocket extra profit from supply coal in a inflated price.

That is indian formula of Win and Own NOT win win?

@Nilgiri :

Another example of the encroachment of China into BD.
Where is poxy India?

India already commited 3 billion....read the article.

Plus tell me when these projects are actually completed given notorious BD bureaucracy.....not to mention these are all economic based and are pittances given the years they will be stretched over.

Transfer efficiency of mega projects in such a corrupt basket case remains to be seen (i.e how much of the loans will be NPA or close to NPA and just increase Bangladesh debt).

3 billion from India is nothing.

China already gives 3 billion dollar loan for Padma Bridge railway and now this 6 billion
for other projects. There are other multi-billion dollar projects just waiting in the wings.

Stop this rubbish about BD bureaucracy as BD infrastructure projects are being completed
at a rapid pace now. A little bit of googling will help you.

So how many years do these loans cover? The answer to that will give us the intensity of its relevance to BD economy ( as small as it is). But I guess beggars cant be choosers

This will be over around 5-6 years.

BD is also getting support from Japan to the tune of 6 billion dollars over 5 years and many
billions from other sources such as World Bank and ADB.

12 billion dollars just recently came from Russia for Roopur nuclear power plant.

When all these sources of funding are coupled with BD's own funding of 4 billion dollars for projects like Padma bridge and billions every year for other projects, then you can see the quantum leap in BD infrastructure that will happen over the next 5-6 years.

Dude, stop making yourself look a fool and accept the reality of BD's transformation that is
happening for all to see.

So about 1 billion of investment per year (assuming your timeframe is correct) in context of 70 billion total yearly investment in Bangladesh. This is a big significant thing to you for 170 million people? Okie! Its about the situation India saw in the 90s per person....how it ramps up and sustains is anyone's guess....especially given BD dreadful human capital (40% low skilled....ouch!)

indians are only good for running their mouth. $3 billion my a$$ - Bangladesh doing india a favor by using it to buy indian shoddy goods and keep their industry running. Not to mention india using loan disguise for destruction of Bangladesh forest, identity and environment.

With Chinese money Bangladesh is getting invaluable infrastructure that will help Bangladesh economy and GDP growth.

There are fundamental differences between indian dumping scam under disguise of loan and Chinese investment/loan for infrastructure development.

Please learn to count.

Just the foreign loans come to around 30 billion US over 5-6 years.

Add in 2-3 billion US dollars per year from BD internal funding sources then you can see the scale
of the infrastructure transformation that is happening in BD.

And FYI, BD wants to relax rules on debt that gives us external debt at only 20% of GDP and start
to borrow more to fund infrastructure spending. The already impressive infrastructure buildup
will only get even better in future.

I don't know how someone like you who has so much time on your hands be so ignorant.

Incoming loan announcements are not the same as the time they will take to be spent as part of the GCF. I mean this is the case with CPEC and Pakistan too. 45 billion dollars (a lot of it still stuck at MOU stage) is not going to be spent there over any short time period.

Plus please post a break down of this 30 billion US total....each project with a source. How many are MOUs and how many have been fully started etc (if a coolie like you even knows the difference).

Already impressive infrastructure build up :rofl:

When news like this comes up:

https://defence.pk/threads/dhaka-among-world’s-nine-worst-cities-to-live-in-eiu-report.445152/

Dhaka, Bangladesh - The EIU said that "violent acts of terrorism" in Bangladesh have taken their toll on the city's liveability ranking, as it has the lowest score for infrastructure out of the 140 cities surveyed.

....it is hard to take your BD BBS-based BS seriously  esp when you have no idea how loans and GCF seem to work and quote out of your *** just like BBS/BAL/BDidiots.

I don't know how someone like you who has so much time on your hands be so ignorant.

Of course someone that knows his beans will seem "ignorant" to someone who in all likelihood is poverty stricken coolie in UK like 70% of his ilk there.
