Bangladesh Airforce inviting tender for 8 MRCA

Can you show me the percentage of non-Bamars in Tatmadaw? Because Tatmadaw is the one which control the country.

I think economies of the states are dependent on China and Thailand, not Burma, so granting them independence wouldn't hurt their economy but will bring peace to the entire region.
lol there're many ethnics soldiers in army.
most are karen , rakhine , chin and shan.
there're so many ethnic generals in army. i can show u their photos in army museum when u come to Myanmar.
lol why so serious..!! that's why we need to unite each other.. here can see someone is serious and afraid of our reunion. lol
they already got independance since long ago. no need more.. and signing aggrement is better way to get both economical and military strong.

And Commander in Cheif is a bamar going with his birth name Min Aung Hlaing
lol he is a Dawei ethnic and born in dawei. o_O

.
we wont completely destroy them for sure as they're our brothers and there're many limitations for army's move due to strong political strings attached. if u want to know our real ability , send ur army into Myanmar.. lol :p:

read your own sentense. it really means what u want to say..? most of our MiG are grounded..? lol :partay: why dont u send ur 6 MiGs to check whether they're grounded or not..?
:blah::blah::blah:

it's crystal clear that we just want to be more easier in keeping pressure on them. after they signed , automatically remove from the list..
i have told that the most burmese migs are grounded becasue of the lack of maintenance.... spares and the required crew were not bought/trained...

fun fact... the first 10 mig 29 myanmar got in 2002 were infact built for iraqis but then they were never delivered.

it's another way of not accepting the fact that you guys failed to control the insurgency after decades of bombings, assault etc... keeping pressure on them my ***... i don't see you guys keeping pressure on the rohyngas lol xD

See, you have failed to show any credible figure depicting the % of non-bamars in Tatmadaw and as I've heard, the Tatmadaw is heavily dominated by bamars. We in Bangladesh are concerned with the instability in your country which is affecting us well. We want to see peace in the region and it will be only achieved when the rebel states will have right to self-determination. If you are confident, have a referendum in those states whether they want to be with Burma or not. The current situation tells me they are very much in favor of separation from Burma.

lol he is a Dawei ethnic and born in dawei. o_O

His name looks bamar, What language do the daweis speak?

should probably consider joining the supply chain of the new fighters coming out of that region - seeing the obvious bias here - mostly the chinese JF-17 or some other (bigger) aircraft. pretty sure Pakistan can help in that..
it would be gr8 to see a collar between Pakistan and bd and china to develop a fighter jet together... or maybe a joint understanding and technical help and tot of jf-17!...

Not gonna happen. Bangladesh seems to regret gaining independence from India and are currently in the process of becoming their newest province.

On topic: what threats does Bangladesh face? Or more specifically, what will these fighters be up against?

Your arguments are contradictory and historically inaccurate.

BD gains nothing by taking an aggressive posture against India or any country. Our priority is getting our economy moving an improving the life of our people.

That does not mean we leave our defenses open.

Within our means we are developing our military capability to ensure deference capability. BD can not be military conquered and held by any nation.

We are taking care of our national interest to be a confident strong nation at peace with ourselves, at peace with our neighbours and connected to the global economy.

is it true that the sukhoi 30 mki india owns, below 50 percent are operational ready... that the air force plans to increase the availability to 75? saw it in pak def. homepage a couple of days ago

That was the case before, now the readiness rate is about 2/3rds (with even higher local production of spares compared to before) I believe..... which is about standard peak (2 ready for every 1 that is being serviced) for high performance russian jets.

Can check some of the updates regarding that here:

http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/india-ordering-modernizing-su-30mkis-05852/

75% sure is about where western aircraft operational rates lie, but we will have to see if that can be achieved with SU-30 MKI...could be doubtful. But 66% is fine I feel esp if it can be held as minimum.

Sorry to say we are not barbaric like Burmese army.We have standards unlike you. Can't even defeat some rebel and speaking of defeating a professional army:lol:

Before talking big, supply your foot-soldier boot instead of sandal and stop kidnapping children to use as a soldier.Your sandal wearing army is barely able to fight the rebels.forget about standing against highly trained and disciplined army like Bangladesh. We have seen your capability in the clash with Thai army before.:P

Lets try to keep this on topic gentleman.

I was wrong about thinking its gonna be a SU-30 derivative.

Apparently, the Mig-35 has an option for thrust vectoring engines as well. So it fulfills all but one of the criteria
set forth in the tender document word for word. (except for the 3 existing operators)

A seperate question is what will happen to the legacy Mig-29s? Upgraded or retired?

Four squadrons of SU-30MKIs based in Tezpur and Chabua by public account from half a decade ago. Maybe more in covert fashion now. Each squadron has about 20 aircraft. So about hundred fighters and support aircraft altogether.

Modernisation projects have been completed in five airfields in the Eastern and NorthEastern regions: Tezpur, Chabua and Jorhat in Assam, Purnea in Bihar and Panagarh in West Bengal. Runways were being extended from 9,000 to 11,000 feet.

There is heavy concentration of tactical Aakash and Brahmos missiles as well as Strategic Nuclear-tipped missile launchers based in the area, see here on how many military airbases there are in the area....place your cursor over each airport.

Unlike Pakistan,we have no Kashmir like issue with India. So we have no compulsion to be hostile against India.Only a fool would create hostility with a nation of 1.3 billion people with booming economy when there is no big issue.Maintaining good relation with India is beneficial for our economy and we would not lost any opportunity for nothing.

Our armed forces are not up against anyone. These are normal expansion in line with our overall growth. In the past we neglected our armed forces, so it is basically closing the gap.But still if you insist, these fighters will be used against anyone who initiate armed hostility against us.

Retired. Few days ago I saw a mig flying very low in Dhaka in a run down condition. It was clearly seen from the ground.
