BAF to Purchase 16 X Chinese J-10C MRCA's

I am really doubtful of this. The J-10C is not meant for exports and it has only recently begun making its way to the PLAAF. Buying these fighters would probably be a poor use of resources by Bangladesh and there would be high maintenance costs; the JF-17 is a much wiser choice.

Perhaps Pakistan could extend us a soft loan package of US $1 Billion,on deferred payments installments basis,we would be more than delighted to receive additional JF-Block-3 versions, also. The more the merrier.

JF-17 is very unlikely given the view point of present BD ruling Govt. towards Pakistan. But I'm also skeptical about J-10C. I'm not seeing this happening since the fighter is not cleared for export yet. However, if it's J-10B there might be a chance of procurement!!!

It might be J10B but anyways congratulations to Bangladesh. It seems India is being surrounded by Chinese weapons :lol:

come on it's too early to celebrate! this is just a rumor with no official confirmation! might not even come to fruition in the bitter end.
the news and articles are all about "likely" and "hopefully" now. let's wait a few months as @BanglarBir bhai said. if the deal is truly inked by then it would be great!!!

J-10 was cleared for export in February 2016.
B variant. No surprise because c was on the horizon which is said to be superior to f-16, eurofighter in terms of avionics, BVR electronic warfare etc.

Not necessarily, will decrease long term maintenance cost because of engine commonality with sukhoi 30. Jf-17 doesn't offer significant reductions in maintenance cost either and light fighter roles are now handled by f-7s and yak-130.

Here I disagree, smaller A/Cs have much less operational and maintenance costs. In most simplistic analysis the drag force plays the most significant role in fuel consumption and its is directly proportional to wetted area and engine is required to overcome this drag force. In addition smaller A/C suffers less wear and tear of its internal components especially the engine since the stresses introduced are smaller.

A PAF pilot has far more numbers of flight hours than his IAF counterpart and one of the reason is that PAF operates light to medium A/Cs like Mirages, F-16 and JF17 (not in order).

Will F-7bgi with advance avionics be comparable to jf17 ?

I have no idea about F-7 bgi but it may be comparable to F-7 pg of PAF. JF-17 is a different category and generation. F7s are 2.5th or 3rd generation while JF17 block I/II are 4th gen while block III will be a truly 4.5 gen.

But the roles are already played by existing aircrafts like f7 and yak-130... whereas for multi role/ AirSuperiority, naval strike etc. Large and medium fighters are required.

I guess even after f7s are phased out we would rather go with j31 than jf-17.... politics being one reason.

Export version is called FC-20 which may be different to J-10 A , B or C version .
