But the roles are already played by existing aircrafts like f7 and yak-130... whereas for multi role/ AirSuperiority, naval strike etc. Large and medium fighters are required.

I guess even after f7s are phased out we would rather go with j31 than jf-17.... politics being one reason.

I was just replying to a question addressed to me by a poster about the differences between F7bgi and JF17. Nowhere I advocated the sale of JF-17 to Bd. Rather, I'll be against any sale of JF-17s especially the block III/IV to any country in the region.

BTW J-31 will get the same arrangement between PAF and China as JF17. So I think you can strike off J-31 from your list also. Try to get F22 raptor or F35 from USA.

There is nothing that China will sell to Pakistan that it wont sell to BD. Do not think that only Pakistan has a special relationship with China.

J-10B/Cs and J-31s will be making their way into BD arsenal within the next 10 years.

16 is nothing for China. China can produce 3 J-10 a month last I heard.

What is more of a handicap is if China fears the compromise of J-10C technology. I am hoping that since the J-20 is in service then China will take the risk and sell to BD anyway.

J-10 variants are still using Russian engines though. That places a cap on the production number.

Export version is called FC-20 which may be different to J-10 A , B or C version .

Fc-20 a, b and so on. Same aircraft sans nuke delivery package.

well, the J-10 procurement rumor is circulating for a while now. I hope it's true. it would be a tremendous addition to BAF fighter fleet!!!
but, is J-10C cleared for export?!! they were inducted in PLAAF not too long ago!!

Let me wake you up bro from your deep slumber....I'm Pakistani and have been quite active on PDF so I never heard that Pakistan was going for co-development of J-20 or J-10...so that's not true at all and I really don't know what is your source?...though there was a desire of some defence experts to acquire a few J-10s perhaps 2-4 squadrons as a stop gap solution but PAF on the whole was not so keen. Anyways that small number does not warrant co-development or TOT.If Pakistan has been interested in J-31 genuinely and Pakistan's next gen A/C will either be J-31 or some derivative of it with ToT and licensing similar to JF-17 project or even a bigger chunk with some elements from TFX.

I would say let's see btw we have no issues if China sells you J-10 but according to the senior Chinese members and TTA's there is no chance at least in near future as PLAAF's needs are first priority and as uncle and its small puppies have started to bark and corner China, the situation has become even more urgent and since China is not constrained by its wallet, it won't make any sense that China will be selling its top of the line operation 4.5th gen A/C prior to satisfactorily meeting its own needs.

PS: I'm not interested in political discussion as of who is more close or not because that is far our relations with our friends.
