BAF hopes to achieve Air Superiority with new fighter jets from China

BD's military is currently a joke.

It should slowly increase the amount it spends on the military from the current 1.5% of GDP to around 3% by 2025.

This will allow both poverty to be tackled and the military to be made into a good deterrent even for India over the medium-long term.

Just barely defeats Burma and now matching itself to India.

India and Burma are the only ones that may.
That's impossible judging the way their politicians glue up to india.

Who said anything about matching India?

BD does have the potential to create a military that can deter India but not match it.

This is something that will 20 years.

You are all forgetting an important part of the equation while making compsrisons...
Pakistan and india came into being in 1947.
BD only came into being in 1971,and that is pretty recent compared to both india and Pakistan.
So if BD lags behind in military or any other prowes, behind india and or Pakistan,it can also be atributed to the age if the country.
So to make a fair comparison,do consider this aspect too.

1.5% of GPD? Thats low looks like goverment take development of country as priority(very good idea actually considering BG need to level up its economy) but from what i understood Burma/Myanmar is a rogue militaristic country living in next door so its not bad idea to give military a little priority either.

SU 30 MKI have a BVR range of 200 km. its no use to have F 7.. BD could have concentrated on atleast JF 17 or yak 130.

Our airforce has already purchased 10 units of YAK-130. BAF will first train the pilots with the YAKs and will then induct Sukhoi or whatever 4.5G planes I do not know. It seems our big neighbours including China all have Migs, so it must have something in combat. BGI is certainly not our last purchase. It is only a step forward rom what BAF was before with older A-5s.

So, during combat F-22 requires escort from F-7s. That speaks about it's capability. :)

You are right. BGIs can certainly work as escort planes that accompany a combat plane by guarding its rear and front. BGI engages the enemy fighters that frees the combat plane to go to its mission.

why are you bringing jf-17 into this thread , honestly what is your intentions ? if you don't like Pakistan ok no problem, but why pick on it in every thread unnecessarily creating friction between Pakistanis & Bangladeshis. What is it that you want ? or are you here just to troll ? i condemn imran khan for his trolling but in the meantime i cannot ignore the fact that some bd members unnecessarily provokes by bringing Pakistan directly or indirectly in a negative pattern,

"this thread is not about j-f17"
Yes, this is not about JF-17, but many posters suggest us to buy your plane instead of BGI. I was not trolling, I was answering to their suggestions as if they know better than what our BAF Chief knows. Moreover, I do not have to love Pakistan or India when the issue is my own country's well being.

politically we have gud relationship with india

n pak is not going 2 attack on BD. so why the hell u guys comparing these 3 countries army

The balance between social development and military is a very fine one but I think that now that BD has made tremendous progress in social indicators, it can slowly start spending a greater proportion of it's wealth on the military. Coupled with a very decent rate of economic growth, this will allow sufficient funds to allow respectable numbers of modern fighters, ships and SAMs to be procured in the future

As things stand now, the Myanmarese air-force can completely wipe out the BD air-force and then carry out bombing missions over the large cities in BD and no way to defend against this.

The BD government needs to realise that it is not giving enough priority to the military and start placing orders soon for modern 4+ generation jets as a start.

An economically strong BD will also need to be militarily strong.
