What's new

Around 1,700 Hindus convert to Buddhism in Bihar

Unless they start killing Hindus or deliberately speaking ill of hindu gods/godesses in major way (which isn't part of their religion anyway), there won't be any "backlash". Because we hindus do not consider Buddism as a separate religion. We consider buddha as 10th re-incarnation of Vishnu...

And who gets to decide what is deliberate....? Let's not forget as to what had happened between Hindus and Buddhists during those times....

Hindus vanquished Buddhism in India. The Buddhist temples were converted to Hindus temples. The only remnant is Buddha made avatar in Hinduism to make easier to Buddhist to accept Hinduism. The Bengali Buddhists after defeat migrated to Sir Lanka in boats and created Buddhist kingdom away from Hindu mainland. Exactly the same reason that Buddhism only survived outside India or in Himalayan highlands. The Bodhi tree where Buddha elightment was again cut down by Hindu revivalist King Pushyamitra Sunga and idol of Lord Shiva was installed.

No much will change in converting from Hinduism to Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism since they Indian religions. There will be difference if they convert to Islam or Christianity. This will start Hinduvta brigade backlash.

Asman se ghira kajur mein atkha wali bat ho gheye. Christianity is best option atm because of money. Plus hindus will not dare to attack/kill christians because of western pressure.

Don't talk from your behind. How can hindus make Buddist "accept" hinduism? Whether they accept it or not is not our concern at all. The "tale" you have mentioned is just that, a "tale", for the place is still a buddist temple... so, better luck next time with out of behind history..... not everyone is intolerant of other religions, you know..
PS: If you want, I can give you references of buddists places still active inland even in south.

Whoever feels it is deliberate. Reaction will NOT be violence like blasts that happened recently, as carried by others, that is for sure. what happened during "those" times and when exactly was "those" times occur?

Great 1700 more peaceful people in this world. Wish they had converted to atheism.
Buddhists don't worship God or any higher being. So Buddhism is a religion for Atheists.

Bihar is good place for spread of Buddism. It is the place where Gautam Siddhart became the Buddha at Bodh Gaya. Bihar has a lot of potential for tourism

Buddhism originate in India subcontinent but somehow Buddhism had been eradicated in India subcontinent and thrive in east Asia and Southeast Asia.

India Buddhism mainly for tourist purpose and not spiritually worship by the population.

Wrong.

Who told you it is 'tourist' purpose?

Ambedkarites are not Buddhists.

Their are just another politicized version thinking they are superior to everyone and have a hatred against our Hindu countrymen.

The real Buddhist philosophy is practised in the mountains

Also, you don't 'convert' to Buddhist way of life.

You simply espouse a different branch of Dharmic philosophy.

. .
To be precise,Buddhism not Hinduism is the true religion of indian identity.

religion can't be Indian Identity. Its a secular country (don't misquote me as a congressy lol I am far away from politics :p:) and our Identity should be our development not religion :)

There were stories about Hindu kids pretended to be Buddha children and pay by the tour guide for their fake worshiper of the Buddha, they even shave their head for their act.

I know the reaction won't result in blasts but episodes such as 2002, 1984 would take place... The "those" times which I was speaking of are as follows

"Historian S. R. Goyal has attributed the decline and disappearance of Buddhism from India to the hostility of the Brahmanas. An incident oft cited is the destruction of the Bo Tree and Buddhist images by Saivite King, Shashanka, persecution by Pusyamitra Sunga (185 BC to 151 BC) who detested the Law of the Buddha had set fire to the Sutras, destroyed Stupas, razed Samgharamas and massacred Bhikkus and even killed the deity of the Bodhi tree. There is also mention of the Huna onslaught on Taxila (in Pakistan), the persecution of Buddhist monks by Mihirkula."
