Armenia 'genocide' row: Turkey recalls envoy to Germany after vote

LMAO it's like the whole world have some butthurt from erdogan

I love itt Erdoğan is the mannn :enjoy::enjoy:

"Ironically, you have no other choice but to love Erdogan lol"

Maybe not in kuwait but in turkey you can vote on whoever you want. I had voted last year for first time and i'm proud to have voted on our great leader mr Erdoğan

What two-face bias;

First off, this wouldn't really be considered genocide - the intent of the operation wasn't to kill Armenians; but to deport Armenians to keep the populace from supporting and joining the advancing Russians. The logistics and size of the operation wasn't taken into consideration and thus resulting in the deaths of many Armenians - the Ottoman Soldiers escorting the Armenians made the same miserable journey and lived in the same conditions, also causing thousands of Ottoman deaths.

It proved to be a huge humanitarian disaster; Turkey has acknowledged that it was wrong and has given many formal apologies but refuse to recognize it as a genocide.

These European countries have not given importance nor care to REAL genocides and ethnic cleansing that went on in the same era.

Examples are:
Tatar genocide, Caucasus genocide, Balkan genocide, Palestine ethnic cleansing, Greek attacks on hundreds of Turkish villages and so much more.

Ironically, you have no other choice but to love Erdogan lol. :D
Yes, Kuwait is much more democratic and liberal than Turkey.

Turkey and Japan are the only two nations that have now apologized for their crimes.

ANKARA

Istanbul’s Armenian Patriarch on Tuesday condemned the politicization of the deaths of Ottoman Armenians in 1915 following a German resolution calling the killings genocide.

In a letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Archbishop Aram Atesyan said: “Like we have expressed many times before, it is really sad that a pain which created trauma among the Armenian people is used in the political arena.”

The archbishop said it was unacceptable for the representatives of German citizens to express an opinion or make laws on an issue that has nothing to do with the German people.

The letter is the latest development following the Bundestag’s symbolic motion last week referring to the deaths of Armenians during World War I as genocide.

Turkey has always acknowledged the tragedy of deaths on both sides in eastern Anatolia when some of the Ottoman Armenian population rose up in support of invading Russian forces. It has repeatedly called for the creation of an international commission of historians to resolve the dispute.

Turkey has always acknowledged the tragedy of deaths on both sides in eastern Anatolia when some of the Ottoman Armenian population rose up in support of invading Russian forces. It has repeatedly called for the creation of an international commission of historians to resolve the dispute.
From his letter to Prresident:

“Dear Mr. President,

...

It is unacceptable that a parliament, which was formed by the votes of German citizens and has the duty of establishing laws for the peace, prosperity and security of their nation, expressed its opinion, though it has no right to do so. It is unacceptable that this parliament legalized its decision on behalf of the entire German nation and considers itself a judge.

...

This historical pain of Armenian nation is considered as a tool for accusing and punishing Turkish state and nation. And because of this ugly mentality, sub- and supra-identities of Turkish Armenians are harmed. The ones who are willing to see the truth can realize how Armenian nation has been abused by imperialist powers.

Turkish and Armenian peoples have to live together. These two ancient and neighboring peoples shouldn't be driven apart from each other by hatred inciting discourses. Instead of politicizing the history, the aim should be the fellowship and peace. Two neighboring peoples, who have common history and similar traditions, will live together with peace one day, as long as we deem it possible and prevent the unnecessary steps.

In a world where politicians express their opinions about our people's suffering by taking their interests into account, we, as the Patriarchate, will continue to pray for the fellowship of Turkey and Armenia. This attitude is the force of our faith and the expression of our sense of citizenship. On the other hand, we know that some people will react against this attitude of ours. May God take root in the hearts of the citizens of the both countries. May God help the souls who devote themselves to create what is good.

On this occasion, we once again express our regret and pray to God for bestowing health, success and happiness on you. Also, we pray to God for making the state dignitaries, who work for the good of people, succeed in their services.

Cordially,

Archbishop Aram Ateşyan

General Vicar of Armenian Patriarch in Turkey"

It's just a measure to get even with Turkey. In Germany the Nazis are instigating anti-Muslim sentiment in order to grab power again. They understand the general sentiment of the western people and politicians and therefore, trying to exploit that sentiment. Turkey has become a victim of a trend that started with the aftermath of 9/11.

Germany is connected to it. It was allied with the ottoman empire, knew about the genocide and did nothing against it. The german parliament condemned the role germany played and has evry right to do so.

Germany is making a HUGE mistake by splitting with Turkey.

The UK is all set to leave the EU soon and the Germans really need a strong ally going forward.

A muslim country can never be an ally for a european country.

That said a powerful nation like germany doesnt need a developing country as strong ally. GGermany and France are what matters. Certainly not a islamist country which supports ISIS and has a demented sultan as president.

On a sidenote, why should germany split with turkey? Germany accepted its role in the armenian genocide. Thats germanies right. An ally who cant stand the truth is worthless anyways

WW1 dude - please read up on history.

Within a generation Turkey will match German economic output.

France is not a strong country economically
and will weaken over time as Asian competition bites into it's export mix.
