Defense deals takes a long time. There are ups and downs. Argentina may be interested in your JF17 and they are going through the process. If they have bothered to open negotiations they are definitely interested..... From what I read here these are all recent developments..... I very much doubt they would suddenly walk away so quickly.

I think this is a case of wait and see.

argentina is officially a bankrupt country

they couldnt afford the j-10 which is half the price of western AirCraft, they cannot afford even thunder which half price of j-10.

in the end they went for aircarfts that have well passed their frame life.
at best these will have 1000 hours that too if extensively maintained.

i think the best choice will be to not buy anything at all. these are peaceful times.

Wrong! $$$$ was not the issue. They wanted to upgrade the dated avionics of the JF-17 which proves that the avionics on the JF are nothing much to write home about! The PAF needs to upgrade them too.

The cost of the JF 17 will be much much higher than the 25 million dollars per plane---you have to count in the weapons---training etc etc etc---which might come close to 75 million a plane all packages included---or maybe 100 million a pop.
