Angry India tells US 'times have changed' after diplomat spat

and those state or local authorities need a lesson on how to treat people. She was not an inmate. She was not a USA citizen. She was not proven guilty. These idiotic officials took extreme steps.

The officials have their own procedure after booked someone. They are just following the procedure after someone is arrested. A lot of these are not necessary, I agree. But they are still the procedure of a particular police department. Just because she is Indian does not mean that we will not able to enforce our procedures. This is equivalent of arguing that any Americans arrested in a foreign country should be released if they were not read their Miranda rights as this is an American procedure.

US always keenly watching India advancements in all field including science and technology. In this world some countries US always treated as threat to it in all fields.Russia and China is already there,We can see with recent action, India is also in list. They always talk about befriending with India .but silently they watching us and our every moves. They will continue to do so .Because we are not their allies ,that take order from US.We cant trust US.Funny thing is our diplomats and other officials already know that.
The premium to be USA's ally is to let USA station army in your land, will India allow them doing so? I think big no.

Seems like you are a typical Indian who has an unhealthy obsession with Pakistan.

Indian want to drag Pakistan into this b/c they view Raymond David unjustly escape punishment for the crime he commit in Pakistan, Indian want to rally Pakistan sentiment to condemn the action of the US government and lend them another supportive voice to help their cause of freeing the diplomat.

The Raymond Davis case was a matter between Pakistan and USA, which was handled in the Pakistani court and was resolved by our Sharia Islamic Law.

This is non of India's business.

If anything, Pakistanis are well aware of how respectful of laws these Indians are. Indians often disrespect UN resolutions, break treaties, and violate agreements between our two nations.

Americans are just getting to experience that.....

Its an Indian that is violating the American law. And its the Indian media, public and forum members that are indignant. It should be Americans that get pissed off as our laws are violated by an Indian national.

plz see where i used pakistan, do you see me bashing Pakistan, when some wanna be american poster said amerika follows the law of the land, just showed him how amerika breaks the law of the land,i was bashing amerika.

Pakistan case was handled properly by the US government, US government apologize for the wrong doing and the lost of life, US paid 2 millions dollar blood money compensation allow by Pakistan law to free the US diplomat. Case close, he didn't convict by the crime. US didn't used their status in the world to illegally sneak out the diplomat back to the US.

You are a good example of US hypocrisy ....

US government tried to enforce diplomatic immunity on pakistan establishment ..with his diplomatic papers being processed 2 days after he was charged for murder ...

US government all along maintained that Raymond Davis can't be subjected to Pakistani law ...as he has diplomatic immunity ....and it is the height of US hypocrisy that it eventually used the priovision of same Pakistani law it refused to accept to get Raymod davis free ....

US used its status , muscle power as well as its wealth to force Pakistani establishment to create this passage for Raymond davis ....

US is the most hypocrite country in the world ....

why did John Kerry expressed regrets then.... ? He must be retard in that case ....Go and preach John Kerry not to keep calling his Indian counterparts ....to express regrets ....since it is Indian that has broke the American law ...!!!

No need to be panic. Device a long term Tit for TAT policy. NAMO is master of that policy. He has made Amir khan, Lalu and lots and lots of congress leaders fall in line with this policy. We have to wait for 5 more months.

Let's wait for a few more days. All what we know is that the Indian diplomat lied while she was filling the application of her nanny.

That's what you feel....the papers were processed by US authorities ...why didn't they question as to since Devyani's income s 4500$ how can she pay 4800$ to maid ?

The papers should not have been processed in first place ???

The US authorities who processed papers must be stupid in that case ....

In any case there is substantial evidence that Devyani is being framed for what seems to be a common practice for diplomats of almost several hundred other countries ....

lying in official application is in itself a crime. She should be charge with that count as well.

Serial sex offender US president Bill Clinton lied under oath ....

where did the so called Independent Judiciary went ???

US is the most hypocrite country in this world ....

and You are one of the most hypocrite on PDF ....

UN processing request to accredit Devyani to India's permanent mission - Indian Express

The UN on Saturday said it has received official notification from India to register diplomat Devyani Khobragade, who was arrested on visa fraud charges, as a member of the country's Permanent Mission here and the request will be processed according to "standard procedures".

"The United Nations has received notification to register Devyani Khobragade as a member of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. The United Nations is processing this request per its standard procedures," Acting Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General Farhan Haq said.

Haq, however, said he had no comment on whether the criminal charges against Khobragade would impact her getting a UN accreditation or whether she would now enjoy full diplomatic immunity in the case. "I have nothing further to say at this time," he said.

Haq also did not comment on whether the UN has been asked to weigh in the issue, which has snowballed into a major diplomatic row between the US and India and whether UN officials have been asked to weigh in under the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties or Consular Relations on her treatment by the US authorities.

India had said it transferred Khobragade, the deputy Consul General at the Indian Consulate here, from the Consulate in the city to its Permanent Mission at the UN to give her full diplomatic immunity.

A 1999-batch IFS officer, Khobragade was arrested on December 12 on visa fraud charges as she was dropping her daughter to school and released on a USD 250,000 bond after pleading not guilty in court.
