The American economy has already collpased. Are you talking about the banking sector? yeah they control world banking.

They barely produce anything that Asia doesn't. There's also Europe. Their infrastructure is some of the worst in the developed world as well. There's no future in the states.

2/3 of their bloated GDP is consumer spending!!!! They're no different from an oil economy in that regard. In an oil economy money is handed out to the people through subsidies and direct cash payments, in the US they print the money. The biggest employers are retailers.

And no, when they lose their throne as the world's financial center, nothing will collapse. Somebody else will take the throne. Only the nations that have pegged their currencies to the green back or are heavily dependent on the US will be hurt (like Canada, GCC, Colombia and other South American nations, Panama etc...).

I am talking about trade and finance, USA is the largest exporter and importer in the whole world, as well as the hub of world investments. The world depends on Dollar as the major currency for transactions. Not to mention petro-dollar system and the countries that adopt it. As for the infrastructure, I don't agree, they still on the top at everything.

Well. lets see, we do have a growing number of youth turning to Marxism/Communism, there are possibilities of riots breaking out in major cities similar to the London riots, on the one hand you have the wealthy corporate/banking elite, and on the other jobless youth in debt not sure of what their future will be. Cost of living is increasing while salaries are either not increasing or very little raises.

America's current situation, though it hasn't reach that extent and God willing it won't, kinda reminds me of what Czarist Russia and Imperial Germany went through post WW1 where You had communists radicalizing the poor and jobless masses, lawlessness, civil strife, and a civil war.

All the money you ever gave went to arms purchases from American companies. That's how it works and those are the conditions of the grants. You literally give grants to your own companies, but giving it to Egyptians first allows guys like you to come here and say "we're giving aid."

I love how people here are making wise comments and think they're so smart by comparing the US to their 3rd world backwaters. Of course the US is better than your Eastern European backwater (talking to you Kobalt), and this applies to all the other 3rd world countries. The article is talking about how the American lifestyle and economy is changing and it's becoming poorer compared to previous generations.

Back in the day, an undergrad degree=a secure future. Today, an undergrad degree means a **** ton of student loans, an unsecure future and at best a 20-30K dollar a year starting job with the promise of going up the ladder at an undeterminded future date. With 30K dollars, you can barely make ends meet, let alone save.

Now if you were living in some 3rd world nation, all the abovementioned deals would sound awesome, but that's not the point of the article.
