What's new

After insulting "Tiranga", Mehbooba Mufti raises doubts over Indian Army's response to China's Galwan instrusion

. .
Because Rama, Krishna etc. are avatars of god. They come for a purpose and leave when the purpose is done.

Hindus believe that only body dies. Soul does not.

I do not want to carry on with this talk as religious discussions are not allowed on the forum.

I will leave you to your complicated beliefs.

Adios.

While the discussion here have mostly been respectful to other's views, we all know that it is not how it remains for long when it comes to challenging other's religious belief. Also see it getting there gradually in last three-fours posts so here is the usual message:

Avoid discussing religion, it usually do not ends well.

SOFT WARNING
Funny to see a thread about India and China, and only Pakistani members are discussing it ;-)

And yes , I can see the Pakistani posting here who is ashamed to post his real flag. This identity theft by Pakistanis happens all over the U.S.too, be it businesses or restaurants.
Not so much when you consider that this is a Pakistani forum :)

The entire imagery of it is from a particular religion / belief. This immediately makes it non-secular and seeks primacy for a certain religion's imagery over the sentiments of others'. Additionally, that imagery calls for worship of a divine humanoid form but Muslims take objection because they are called upon to worship none but a formless, single God.

"Jai Hind" is secular in the sense that all religious communities can voice it and secular in the sense that it does not project any unnecessary religious identity to the land.

"Bharat Mata" is religious? For you wearing a sari is hinduism it seems and not culture of the land which caricature of Bharat Mata presents.

Is Bharat Mata a deity?

Very progressive thoughts indeed !!

Did I talk about the sari ? Even the sensible and progressive journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani wears a sari.

Saris used to be common among Muslims 15 to 20 years ago.

Bharat Mata wearing a sari is the point of dispute.

Is Bharat Mata a deity?

That's how even I a non-praying and communist Muslim see it. Please refer to my earlier posts on this in this thread.

Then can you provide the logical reasoning behind your assertion that entire imagery comes from a certain religion? What portion of the imagery is trademarked to a certain religion if I may know?

What stops you to create imagery of yours to depict your Bharat Mata? Dont you call this land your mother? Why cant you have your own picture?

You praise the mother, you don't praise the picture !!

That's how even I a non-praying and communist Muslim see it. Please refer to my earlier posts on this in this thread.

So shall we start taking into account baseless propagandas and perceptions to justify un-necessary furors?

I a non-praying and communist M..
they deleted all of my posts to you here because it was apparently a religious discussion (but not a troll fest).. you got that alert too ?

so please don't discuss religion.

as an Indian, it's OK to say 'bharat mata ki jai'.. it's our slogan, does not belong to any religion or to the far right.

kesari salaam.

Yes, some of my posts were deleted with a warning.

so please don't discuss religion.

Got it.

as an Indian, it's OK to say 'bharat mata ki jai'.. it's our slogan, does not belong to any religion or to the far right.

kesari salaam.

I prefer "Jai Hind" which in entirety does not have any overt or covert religious attachment.

And Lal Salaam. :enjoy: Though it seems that in present India that slogan will get the sloganeer jailed for "sedition".

Then can you provide the logical reasoning behind your assertion that entire imagery comes from a certain religion? What portion of the imagery is trademarked to a certain religion if I may know?

Look at this portrayal of Bharat Mata. The halo around the head, the lion of Durga, the bhagwa flag and general ornamentation of a Hindu deity. Very overt religious imagery.

What stops you to create imagery of yours to depict your Bharat Mata?

I prefer the simple, non-religious and direct "Jai Hind". I don't see why that should be a problem.

Dont you call this land your mother? Why cant you have your own picture?

Perhaps I call India my birthland or homeland or fatherland but me being a communist I don't have any semi-religious, ultra-nationalist fanaticism to it.

So shall we start taking into account baseless propagandas and perceptions to justify un-necessary furors?

I didn't understand.

Bharat Mata is mother of all Indians. Hindus will portray the way they like, you can portray the way you like.

How can imagery impact you praising your mother? Are you forced to say that in front of that imagery?

I can see how you avoided my post regarding your own depiction of Bharat Mata.

.
It was absolutely the best and great statement that he made.

I fully support him on that stand.

It makes him look like a great statesman and India as a peaceful country.

Why he is not speaking in English, He fears from China ?

. . .
Bharat Mata is mother of all Indians.

And what if I want to call the country as Fatherland ?

Hindus will portray the way they like

The problem is Hindutvadis ( not Hindus ) imposing their overtly religious symbolism on others.

you can portray the way you like.

Why are you fixated on this ? Why can't you just accept a simple "Jai Hind" ? What's wrong with "Jai Hind" ?

.
And what if I want to call the country as Fatherland ?

Of course as stupidity sees no end. You can argue for sake of argument.

In India, there is no two thoughts about calling it motherland, but you can see religious angles in father and mother as well.

The problem is Hindutvadis ( not Hindus ) imposing their overtly religious symbolism on others.

Are you fine with imagery showing no lion or any resemblance to Deity Durga and a simple lady with Indian map as background?

No, you wont !!

Why are you fixated on this ? Why can't you just accept a simple "Jai Hind" ? What's wrong with "Jai Hind" ?

I am fixated? I can proudly say both the phrases.

Its extremists like you who is ditching one just because of false perception which you fail to justify without invoking some absurd distorted religious beliefs.

No matter how much you call yourself progressive, you are merely one of the lot.
