Advantages and disadvantages of the FC-1 / JF-17 for BAF

Do you mean that the unspecified Southeast Asian country is Bangladesh???
Not likely since it mention South East Asia. But these planes are cheap and multi-role of trainer/fighter/attack. They are highly verstaile, easy to maintain and agile. They are very radical design Mig-21 of the modern era. That is why there is a huge marker for these planes to replace Mig-21 and F-5EII.

.
JFT block 2 is sufficient for BAF in every way. It has a broad weapon range covering sea, ground and aerial targets. It has IFR for extending range. Can engage an aerial target 100 km away. Can destroy a sea target 200 km away. Can be used for ground attacks. Can keep busy BAF in a good way. What else BAF need?

If everything worked per theoretical plan - then your prescription is flawless ! :enjoy:

I have to grudgingly agree with you, there is no better early MiG 21 or F-7 replacement for third world air forces (the LCA is too expensive, too late and already obsolete). Try as they might, they won't sell even one outside of India.

Too bad the Indians can't have it cause they needed hundreds of these.

The reasonable price tag is the cherry on top of the cake....

But I will be disappointed if Bangladesh indeed chose FTC-2000. And not J-10.

Bangladesh is theoretically in South Asia, not Southeast Asia.

Southeast Asia in theory starts in Myanmar and goes all the way East to Vietnam. Also called IndoChina in years past.

I was just curious why @Beast posted that news.

I post that news becos some idiot claim nobody will buy these planes but as what I have proven. AVIC custom made these plane becos they are many buyers wanted this configuration and they are waiting.

This baby even before having its maiden flight has already secure a export deal order as what slayer try to thrash this plane as unwanted stuff. Better than JF-17 fate. JF-17 after commission for many years before able to secure its first export order. So may I ask who future export prospect is better? JF-17 or FTC-2000G? I dare to all in bet for FTC-2000G as the winner.

GAC is really not easy...

GAC is really not easy...
AVIC dont make planes if there is no customers or profit made. J-10 is build becos its fully supported by PLAAF
Same as GAC of FTC-2000G. According to FYJS, there is a ready list of customers from Africa to Asian wanted these configuration. These planes are made when even a deposit is paid. The future prospect for it is good.

Look at FC-31, with no customers or firm order. The project keep dragging with no progress....

It is no doubt that FTC-2000G will be a strong contender of FC-1B/JF-17B.

SAC...:(

.
IAF Rafale deal very likely will not materialise as not even a single screw has made yet.
Mega Fail.
First Rafale for IAF has already been buily and the first of IAF pilots has already begun training at France.

.
That guy doesn’t understand Bangladesh at all.Bangladesh needs a balance of power and the demand for quantity is not as high as in Pakistan. Pakistan needs to balance quantity and quality . India has bought Rafale, Myanmar has MiG-29 and will have Su-30 fighters, Bangladesh has to upgrade its equipment to match the threat . In fact, the number of fighters bought in Myanmar is very small, 32 MiG-29 and 6 Su-30.

In fact, almost all Asian countries are now upgrading their fighters.

JF-17 is not qualified for this role ,The J10D(J10C+Latest avionics and radar+more powerful vector engine) is probably possible. Although it is a single-engine fighter, it has good avionics and radar .

The price of the J10D fighter is not expensive. It is a single-engine fighter , the cost of use is low, Bangladesh can afford it . Bangladesh’s economy is developing very fast, and it is expected to reach 1 trillion US dollars of GDP in 2030 according to the current development speed.

China's per capita GDP 2004(1502$),2012(6337$)
Bangladesh per capita GDP 2017(1550$) 2025
Bangladesh’s GDP per capita is more than 6,000 US dollars, and GDP will exceed 1 trillion US dollars.

this is J10b+Vector engine .

Very well stated.

@Beast Let me clarify myself.

I am not saying FTC-2000G won’t have a market.

But what I am saying is this plane is likely not appropriate for Bangladesh’s requirements touched on by the above post.

In any case if you look at MODERN Western air arms, they are shrinking with more capable and sophisticated platforms which are inherently expensive replacing their older models.

With the 5th generation platforms, it’s impossible to replace types on a one to one basis.

So you see the need to keep and upgrade the fourth gens to add bulk to the fighting force.

So of course quantity has a role.

But having a platform which is a qualitative driver for the capabilities of an Air Force is also important.

As an example the Israelis are supposedly in the market for new F-15s as opposed to further F-35.

But the F-35 is the key part of their capabilities doing things the Eagles can’t.

Bangladesh needs a qualitative driver at this point.

As for quantity, FC-1 would have been great but perhaps political hurdles exist, I dunno.

I would steer clear of the FTC-2000G for a combat role for BAF.

But your arguments about it being cheap and allowing for more flight time for pilots are valid.

You are so sure? What if the deal falls through? How will we collect our bet money from you in China?

No work is going on J-31. But this fighter has a very great design and look similar to F-22 and F-35. Why progress has stopped ? I think Pakistan wanted it and ordered 30-40 fighters in 2015 when the project is finished.

Look at its Superior Design .

Maybe, PLANAF prefers a bigger one.

. . .
What do you mean "no bigger order"?
Sale orders given to SAC by other Customers (other than Pakistan) and friendly countries for the procurement of J-31 units in their air forces for air defense.
