The JF-17 is the strongest candidate to become Argentine Air Force future fighter jet

The JF-17 is the strongest candidate to become Argentine Air Force future fighter jet

More of Argentina is no idiot to buy a fighter plane that cant attack Falkland.
But there is still some idiots who keep insist F-16 is in the forerun,, Despite having zero situation of Argentina for procuring these fighter.

apparently some deal is being made.

The only way Argentina will pick the F-16 is if the other three (JF-17, HAL Tejas, and Mig-35) are somehow considered even more unacceptable due to unreliability or something.

US close to authorizing sale of F-16 fighter jets to Argentina – report

Combat aircraft belong to Denmark and will be replaced by the 5th generation Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter

Argentina may soon receive the green light from the US government to acquire second-hand F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters currently operated by the Royal Danish Air Force.

According to Flight Global, the Biden administration plans to approve the sale of an undisclosed number of 4th generation fighter jets to the Argentine Air Force, which has been without a supersonic aircraft since 2015.

The revelation reinforces information obtained by the Argentine newspaper La Nacion, which reported the US government’s plan to supply 38 F-16 fighters and four P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft to the South American country.

The outlet had access to documents from the State Department that mention the sale of six fighters in the Block 10 version and 32 in the Block 15 version, valued at US$ 339 million, which belong to the Royal Danish Air Force.

As for the patrol planes, they are four P-3C valued at US$ 108,448,910 and stored by the Norwegian Air Force, one of which is equipped to fight submarines.

Denmark is replacing the F-16s with the 5th generation Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightining II fighter, while Norway is one of the operators of the Boeing P-8A Poseidon, a maritime patrol aircraft based on the 737-800.

Most of the world is waiting for block 3 after the order from PAF its export will skyrocket in future In Sha Allah
Nothing wrong with the fighter. Of the available options, It meets the Argentinians technical needs the most (considering it will need to face Chilean F-16s, Brazilians Gripens and British Eurofighters), but it’s the politics that will be the deciding factor.

Yes you're right Sir I think J10C is more suitable for Argentina than a block 3 JF17

Indeed the J-10CE is the most well suited of the options available to the Argentinians. Perhaps if it looks like the Argentinians are starting to favor the F-16, China will come back and offer Brand New J-10CE, also at a deep discount, to counter the deeply discounted but decades old F-16 airframes.

But $$$ will be the problem for Argentina for buying J10CE

Argentina has no money.

The supplier needs to provide loan for them to buy.

China can provide the loan to help them procure the JF-17s
Block 3 has a price tag of 35-45 million dollar China should give a deep discount for purchasing BLOCK 3 JF17

And in my opinion J10CE is a better option than block 3 JF17 but price would be the problem

For China, now that Argentina is in BRICS, they maybe extended a “loan” to procure the J-10s, giving China foothold in Argentina.

The new government in Buenos Aires seems to want to be powerful despite its 104% inflation. China, with the BRICS decision, seems to be open to providing some largesse for access to the region (especially for Chinese companies and the PLA). Some good ole fashion cheque book diplomacy.

P.S. China already has a civilian foothold in Argentina with its space center in Las Lajas, now it wants to get a military foothold.

For example a Chinese port in Argentina could be useful for the PLAN but also be useful for a cruise industry for Chinese tourism to Antarctica as well as a home port for Chinese fishing industry on the open ocean, outside of any nation’s EEZ.

If Pakistan sale these jfs to Argentina. Nawaz and butoos will be kicked out of uk and corrupt generals will not be allowed to get into uk... this sale will be death for corrupts. So I am not confident on this sale

It's more then that, if you look at the deliveries of weapons to Ukraine, their was a closeness between Pakistani and UK militaries

So whatever happens will happen with China talking the lead and Pakistan staying quiet

If any sales do happen, Pakistan will fulfill it's part of the deal

China will never sell J-10 or any advance equipment to Argentina. Because of the country relationship with the US.

Argentina has had a lot of backdoor deal with the US both pre and post Falkland War. In fact, I am pretty sure Argentina is still a major reliant to US equipment til today. That's why they went for F-16.

On the other hand, a military base in Argentina is almost certainly out of equation, first the aforementioned relationship with the US, second, China cannot maintain that base if there is a war going on, to supply that base in Argentina would mean the Chinese Military need to venture out into US controlled East Pacific or went the long way round into NATO controlled Atlantic. I would imagine if there is a war involve China, US and NATO will close access to those location, that is if they are not directly involved to begin with
