What's new

A sole international market for China's J-10 fighter jets is taking shape

Show me an official release which mentions 10 fighter squadrons.
Forces Goal 2030 is BAF official publication. As i said link to it is somewhere in this tread. Go find it yourself if you are interested.

There is no publication mentioning 10 fighter squadrons. Don't mislead people with BS.

I have been paying close attention to defence-related news and developments over the last couple of decades, both through research and personal contacts. If BAF ever made such a tall claim, trust me I would know!

I know very well who first propagated this BS ten fighter squadron hoax on the Bangladeshi internet. Some members in this forum simply keeps regurgitating the rumour hoping it becomes true.
The interview with AM Rahman was held in 2013 in which he revealed the six fighter squadron "aspiration". Tried retrieving the article but could not. Will post if I can find it.

BTW, Forces Goal 2030 is not a "publication". It is a vague, open-ended aim of the forces to modernise by 2030. Due to constraints of funds and choice of manufacturers, the goal is constantly evolving with time for BA and BN while BAF twiddle their thumbs.

I will be very happy if we can have 10 squadron of plane, but I see no progress atm. So maybe it's hoax you are right.

Never mind 10 squadrons, the way BAF is going how are they even going to "maintain" their current strength till 2030? The Fulcrums are well past mid-life, the F-7MBs are voluntarily "retiring" mid-air while an F-7BG decided to bomb itself!

Malaysia should opt for j-10c
You guys can afford to go full Western. Why bother with unreliable Chinese and Russian jets?

BAF is lead by morons and is not fit for purpose...... these idiots keep buying trainers for mythical purchase of actual fighters .....

As i have said before.... allow BAF to rot for now or relegate them to be logistics support for BA and BN. Use resources to develop a SAM arsenal.

"In 2018, the Bangladeshi Air Force sent a delegation to conduct a field survey of the performance of the J-10C. Then, Bangladesh became the first country to express the intention to purchase the aircraft."

This is after Rohingya crisis of 2017 and from a Chinese source.

Ties up with the information @Michael Corleone has been saying for some time.

Surely J-10C contract is only a matter of time now to give BAF an aircraft that can face anything that Indian Air Force has, including Rafale.
For as long as you have Hassina India will love u.

The Fulcrums are well past mid-life,
only had it's first major overhaul a couple of years back.... it's not past it's mid life... but it's getting there maybe that's why the constant interest and backing out of upgrading those? who knows
while an F-7BG decided to bomb itself!
tbh, i blame that on manufacturer defect and ground crew... the plane was recently overhauled and flown by the chief himself... worst part is they use the same models of rocketpods on migs if i'm correct

Four of them were overhauled in Ukraine back in 2012. BAF is in a dilemma on whether it is worth spending any more money on upgrades considering the life left.
Maintenance has been a struggle for them. You never see more than 4 flying together since re-commission in 2007.
