A brighter future when China and India work hand in hand

5 years ago we generously offered to settle the border dispute along the present LAC except Tawang must be returned. india refused and instead sent Dalai Lama to Tawang to demonstrate indian influence. I don't see much good will from the indian side and as india continues to develop its nuclear deterrent against China its position will only harden.

IF Tawang is "returned", Aksai Chin is returned too then.

Deal ?

Generous much , eh ?

CBMs should be taken on both sides, this ain't a one-way street !

Building infrastructure for India is not in line with china's own interest, IMHO.

Making it costly would do. Some Chinese are rather short sighted in the matter, no offending.

CD has a point of the lack of resources to sustain growth, if not the border issue India and China will face off for resources, there's a hindi saying "Ek miann mein dho talwar nahin ho sakti" translates into 2 swords cannot be in one sheath". So the hunt for resources will be an issue.

That will not happen, as you guys are not ready for any-concession on Aksai Chin, same is applicable to our stance on Tawang and Arunachal Pradesh. We can look into option of converting LAC into International border but Indians will never accept transfer of Indian territory to China.

China is a serious world power and if you really want good relations with us, you'll need to offer a serious concession. It's you guys who need good relations more than us. We are on the cusp of world superpowerdom -- our economy grew 20% (!) from 2010 to 2011 and we successfully Finlandized Taiwan -- while you guys are just starting off economically and have a loooong way to go.

Now China is at the top of the ladder looking down. If you play nice with us and give us something (Tawang) to show your good will, we can give you a helping hand to become a developed country. If you keep playing hardball with us, it would be a shame if we just decided to give the ladder a swift kick to make sure india's 1+ billion population never leaves undeveloped country status.

The choice is yours.

I used to believe it before but this forum was an eye opener i knew there was an unresolved border dispute, occasional limited military clashes, airspace and border violations by chinese troops but i used to think unlike pakistan there was not much mutual hatredness towards eachother but by looking posts of several chinese members i realised there is so much anti india sentiment prevelant in china

Perhaps.

But the Chinese don’t have to be on this forum to cast doubts… In fact, anti-China internet India warriors, who are perceivably gleeful on Japan’s rape of Nanking and any mishaps in China, are extremely trivial in dealing damages compared with Indian elites who repeatedly claim China is India’s enemy number one, or potential enemy number one, not a potential friend…

I pointed out earlier the deep psychology beneath.

A simple logic is: to make friend you need two willing sides, to make enemy one side is enough.

You Chinese are hard working people and want good relation with everyone but your only problem is you guys are too much arrogant. Pakistan gave you Shasken Valley as a goodwill gesture because they are a small weak country but don't expect us to do so. China should give up their claim on Tawang as a goodwill gesture and negotiate for converting ceasefire line into international border.

And you may have first rank, in 2011 your whole export sector is in Crisis and mass-layoff and why you forgetting after you we only have second highest GDP growth. You guys will still need 40 years to overtake Americans.

And do we need you or you guys need us to help your export sector alleviate after all India is a 1.2 Billion people market where you can dump your goods and help your export sector from Crisis. And we reached this stage of economic boom without your help. Your company want to invest in India because they want to make profit like Americans did in your country. You can go for making higher than the mountain friend Pakistan to make them as developed state.

Yes, buddy first they annoy us with stapled visa, when our Prime minister goes for Election Campaign in Arunachal Pradesh they cry foul, they send their soldiers to a territory which we considered our own occupied by Pakistan, they do daily incursion at border Area and their media openly declare that "India is envy of China" , they only vetoed against banning of Jamaat Ul Dawah in UNSC which later on carried terror attacks across Mumbai.

So, buddy tell us, is every fault is ours, don't they share anything??
