I have recently joint Pakistan Defence Forum and am not aware well of what's going on here, but I'm telling you of real life in Pakistan
Same here brother...

Pakistanis are racially, culturally and religiously connected with the people of India and this is the reason why we share a lot together and at times we don't see much differences among us.

There is no doubt in it. Infact our elder-lies do mention about Karachi or somewhere else they're rooted before partition.
But, there are issues, political, strategic which are a continued source of tension between the two neighbours. Kashmir whether you accept or not, is a matter of life and death for us. We will never forget it. We keep teaching our children in their syllabi and curricula that Kashmir belongs to Pakistan and Pakistan has fought wars with India over Kashmir and because of Kashmir we lost one Eastern wing.

Perhaps not equally but Kashmir is also very important for India. It's not willing to give it up. And this is the reason why the opposition and hatred is alive somewhere. I bet if there was no Kashmir issue, Pakistan and India relations would be normal.

With Kashmir between us, it doesn't look like this tension will be over.

NOw that's the epicenter of the Zalzalaa :p. Just kidding. If Kashmir is important to Pak, then it is also for India too. Political parties have Kashmir as their agenda. But why can't we as a citizen just care about what we have instead of what we can grab or lose?

You know with the speed India, Pakistan and others are arming themselves, it seems they will end up in a big war, but I think this is not necessary. Two heavy weight wrestlers will most probably end up in a tie. If Pakistan keeps on arming itself until it balances Indian might, perhaps one day, majority of the peace loving masses will move forward and resolve conflicts peacefully.

Kashmir issue has to be settled peacefully for the sake of billions of precious lives in both countries.

Personally, I'm not a hater. I do not hate Hindus, Christians, Jews etc for their religion. I love all creations of God especially humans because they are children of the same father, Adam (peace and blessings of God be upon him). This is my belief!

I do admire the history of India and its culture which is very precious and beautiful.

However, Pakistan is my love, my dream, my life. I will never compromise on this :)

نظر جو تیری لاگی میں دیوانی ہو گئی
مشہور میرے عشق کی کہانی ہو گئی

Quite recently I watched the Bollywood film Bajirao Mastani (باجی راؤ مستانی). It's an excellent film, no doubt. But the message and theme were quite disturbing for me.

Mastani (Mastani Bai), the heroine of the film was Muslim, daughter of a Hindu Raja who had married a Muslim (persian) lady Ruhani Bai.

Mastani fell in love with the Hindu Maratha Peshwa, Bajirao, who according to Bollywood was a symbol of terror for Muslim rule in India.

Mastani moved to Bajirao and presented herself in the name of 'ishq'. Bajirao's family didn't accept her; however Bajirao married her without any marriage rituals (only the Bride and the Groom attended the ceremony in private), none in the Maratha state acknowledged this marriage except Bajirao and Mastani was considered a 'Rakhel' (concubine) of the Peshwa.

Other sources say that Mastani's mother Ruhani Bai was also a Rakhel and not a wife, which may also meant that since Hindus could have only one marriage and later women in their harem were considered Rakhels?

A present day viewer of this film in India is taking the message (which was actually rephrased in the end of film also) that 'Ishq' has no religion. Therefore it implies that Muslim girls can marry Hindu boys, and if not marriage then they may sleep together in the name of 'Ishq' or live together as girlfriends and the vice versa.

Second theme of this film is that Hindus are the actual and lawful rulers of India. Mughals were an occupation force - Mughal's general, Muhammad Khan Bangash who had laid siege to Mastani's city was a crook and a loser as he was easily defeated by Bajirao. Bangash was leading a savage force as (Hindus) women in the besieged city had already set fire to die in it to prevent themselves from being raped or taken as concubines... now the Muslim rulers were shown as villains and Maratha Hindus as saviours.

Another message was that Muslim rulers of India were not only coward but deceitful also. It was presented through Nizam of Deccan whom Bajirao easily fooled with a clever strategy and forced him to sign a deal. Later in the end of film, it said that Nizam's son had broken the agreement which meant that Muslim rulers were deceitful also.

Finally, the actual message was that Hindus are the rulers, and if Muslims live with them, they have to live with them as 'Rakhels'. Bajirao also said that he was not against Islam but against oppression. It implies that India is secular, Muslims are allowed to live there but under the Hindu rule.

Grow up. Its a privately made movie about a centuries old love story that was againat social norms of that time. Why should that bother you?

If it helps soothe your muslim male ego, their kid was brought up a muslim in the peshwa household even after the deaths of bajirao and mastani, given a jagir to run and he fought and died for the marathas in the battle of panipat, like many other muslims. The marathas were indeed a local force against invading afghans but for afghans it was a religious jehad. May be you should worry more about the muslims of then and of now taking the religion cool aid a little less seriously.

You can start with you and the think tanks and senior members worrying themselves sick about a movie in India based on history.

Such shallow anal-yses is something this forum has been peddling lately a lot. Atleast (for this account) you have the flags right.

Didn't know that there's a government film industry as well running parallel to Bollywood in India. What is it called by the way? Modiwood or Madiwood?

Is there any plan of making Bajirao Mastani II to cover this Muslim-Maratha bloodline including the 3rd Battle of Panipat?

It's actually the Holy Bollywood which is taking 'religion' too seriously. Don't you see the 'mandir' the 'pooja', the Hindi rituals and 'mass self immolation'?

Stay close to the enemy if you want to protect yourself from them.

First of all Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi was not Pashtun, he was 'Niazi'.

Second, in 1971, Pakistani troops did surrender to India because we were not able to fight any further. East Bengalis had turned against us. It's a fact, we don't deny it.

Third, we haven't forgotten 1971, we will strike back whenever we can, and defeat you like we defeated you 2 days back with a bigger margin (more than 90,000 Indian troops taken as prisoners of war in Kashmir).

India's marriage of convenience with the US will ultimately force Chinese troops to advance from Aksai Chin into Indian held Kashmir, and Pakistani troops incursion from Sialkot and Azad Kashmir will leave 500,000 to 600,000 Indian troops taken as Prisoners of War...

Indian Prime Minister will then come to Pakistan, and will sign the Murree Accord and we will return your prisoners of war as you did in 1972.

What you do today has a consequence tomorrow, agree?
Dream on ....

Reality is different!

Yes a similar thing happened under niazi. A Pashtun in 1971, biggest surrender after Second World War.

A Pashtun lead force of close to 1 lakh soldiers surrendered infront of Indians.
Niazi isnt pashtuns . dum dum

I can still remember Bob Christo as Ahmed Shah Abdali in "The Great Maratha" lol, they really do turn history upside down and around......I wonder if they will ever do a movie about the benign rule of Aurangzeb, I mean they are supposedly a secular nation which sees no difference between idol worshiper and Muslim,so where are the scripts about such a noble and prominent figure in the history of the region.

Aurangzeb is seen as a mass murderer and a religious fanatic in India.
Someone who tried to kill to spread religion, or who suppressed the local population would never be seen as noble anywhere.
But hey, someone from your land just praised Ghouri here.
