I wonder whether he will get the same compassion in US, or even your country itself.[/B]

We treat every one with equal compassion......for pakistani may be some discount may be offered by the hospital to get some media coverage.....but quality of treatment does not diifer in any circumstances........

So ask the doctor not to operate him for money ....Simple....
WOW MAN U WANNA A KILL UR OWN CITIZEN THAT TO A MINOR...
THIS SHOW HOW MUCH JEALOUS U HAV,U WON'T MIND EVEN HE DIES...
THAT GREAT.
AND WHY IS HE COMING TO INDIA RATHER THAN GOING TO US,CANADA,EU,AUS,...
COZ IN INDIA WE PROVIDE HIGHEST DEGREE OF TREATMENT WITH A VERY LOW COST..
FOR EXMP A HEART SURERY IN US WOULD COST 30,00,000
BUT HERE U WILL GET IT DONE WITH ONLY 3,00,000..AT THE SAME QUALITY THAT OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRIES OFFER

New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) A 14-year-old boy will return to his home in Pakistan Friday with a new lease of life thanks to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi - yet another instance of people-to-people goodwill between the two sides.

Mobeen Ahmed was suffering from cirrhosis of liver since he was two. While there was no transplant facility in Pakistan, treatment abroad would cost far more than his father Iftakar Ahmad, a cook, could afford.

After raising some money, Iftakar, Mobeen and his elder brother Bismil came to Delhi for treatment at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. Looking for help, they turned to Gandhi.

A grievance redressal cell in Gandhi’s office responded to their request.

He has eight siblings and his father works as a cook. Mobeen was a lost case till he reached out to the Congress president. The money for his treatment was raised through newspaper advertisements, Archana Dalima, head of the grievance redressal cell, told IANS.

"Soniaji also requested hospital authorities to relax the charges for the liver transplant," she said.

The hospital waived its fee and brought down the cost of treatment from Rs.1.5 million to Rs.600,000.

"We did not charge any fee for medical surgery," said Anupam Sibal, paediatric gastroenterologist and group medical director at the Apollo Hospital.

"When we first saw him he was very weak, malnourished and suffering from anemia and jaundice. He had a bloated belly, yellow eyes, stunted growth and swollen nails. His liver was completely damaged and we knew that he needed liver transplant," he said.

Bismil, 20, donated 40 percent of his liver for the transplant and the liver transplant surgery was done Oct 21.

"Now Mobeen and his brother have recovered well and are ready to travel," said Sibal.

Before returning home in Lahore, Mobeen Wednesday met Gandhi, who gifted him a cricket kit and, knowing his fondness for Hindi films, some movie CDs.

His case reminded many of Noor Fatima, a two-year-old Pakistani girl, whose parents brought her here in 2003 for a rare heart surgery amid extensive media coverage leading to support from Indians, from prayers to financial assistance.

Mobeen was the fifth Pakistani child to undergo liver transplant at the Apollo Hospital, which has conducted 125 liver transplants in the last 22 months.

It does Depend on Faith of the parents of that child in sending him to a doctor Serving in a Hostile Country Rather than Sending them to the Best Pakistani Hospital, And I do Not think that Pakistan Establishments are so weak that They cannot even do a Heart Surgery, So the Idea of bringing that Child Here Is for a Free treatment and More over Treatments In India are Costlier than In any part of the World for Sure, And If It wasnt for free, They would Have gone elsewhere...

Sir not every type of heart Sx is done every where.....and some institutes specialise in particular type of heart surgeries......

It is a damn hard field with around 12 yrs of continuous training and studies.......and that too if u get through all entrances without a hitch (and that too in INDIA).......and in the end u end up around 35 and still a bachelor.....

Health tourism it is. Providing immediate emergency visa, providing good/best care at the cheapest of rates is indeed a good thing.

Not so long ago Akram had his wife treated in India when he has to crash land due to the critical condition of his wife. Humanity and appreciation are 2 good features, believe me.

You would understand it if you, for a second take away the tag of "india basher/hater" from the forehead and ask the patient when he return back home how we treated him. I wonder whether he will get the same compassion in US, or even your country itself.

1. Any country would have treated her if they crashed landed in emergency. Dint you see aircraft do make emergency landing when there is SOME serious case with the passengers.

2. You treated him for money simple as that. we get such treatment by paying to doctors in west too NOT a sainty thing you did so stop being desparado here for scoring points.

3. There are many people in India poor ones dying due to lack of treatment why you do not provide this compassion to them ???

The bottom line is again that its health tourism NOT compassion.

Its like business class in an aircraft where hostess come to you after every minute to check your comfort level because you have paid a heavy fare whereas in economy class you are treated as we treat patients in many Govt run cheap pathetic hospitals both in India and Pakistan.

2ndly You have your "BOLD" Button turned on....Please take it off...Bold option is used for highlight important lines or words not rant

Not everything can be done for free...... unfortunately docs also are human beings and have to run a family...and yeah also have to eat.......if u see current generations of hospitals they are more like hotels in themselves......and it takes a lot of money to make them....heck if u make a hospital now...u will start profiting only after 10 yrs dowm the line......

Its like saying any country will pay u arms if u pay money argument.

Willingness is a big factor and we thrive on it.

People dying due to lack of treatment has lots of reasons. As a big country most part are inaccessible to all people.

Eventhough as u rightly mentioned govt hospitals are indeed cheap and i can give a list of charitable super specialty hospital all over. But still places are there which are remote. Also the unwilling attitude of certain percentage of population towards modern medicines can also be attributed to it.

Like in Pakistan govt run hospitals in India too have lack of proper medicinal stocks, right number of doctors and equipment and alos has corruption.

COOL DUDE I'M WAITING FOR JANA'S ANSWERS....:-)

Neither we are asking for free we are just reminding the Indians NOT to act like desparados by over exaggerating things

Because Your rates are lower than the US and Canada. Those who can afford US and Western doctors they prefer to go there.

Now its not our fault if you are cheaper

I would have put more light if disease was clear......chalo koi na...hope the patient gets a successful Sx......manipal is good...
