Quetta: A total of 5,000 youth from all over Balochistan Province will be inducted in Pakistan Army in March 2011, said Major General Tariq Javed on Monday.

Pakistan Army in collaboration with Balochistan government is committed to play its role in the development of the province, he said at concluding ceremony of ISSB classes at Quetta Cantt.

“In pursuance of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani’s directive, Army in collaboration with provincial government launched projects in education, health, and other sectors,” he added.

He said conversion of Sui cantt into military college, training classes in Balochistan Institute of Technical Education BITE, renovation, construction of damaged health and education structures in flood-stricken areas are some of major steps taken by Army for development in Balochistan.

Major General Tariq Javed lauded dedication of Baloch youth during training session and said Balochistan is rich in talent and efforts afoot to bring them on par with students of other provinces.

Pak Army has always played vital in the prosperity of the country.
Under the leadership of Gen. Kiyani , it is rendering owesome services for the uplift of people of Balochistan.
It seems that the duties of Government are also being done by Pak Army in Balochistan.
Last year 4000 Balochs were recruited in Pak Army. It is boasted to 5000 this year.
This is another gift of Pak Army to Great Balochs.

Any way I was remembering the comments of Pakistani members on the thread where there was a similar news of Kashmiri youth being inducted into Indian forces.

One of the comments talked about how they would learn the Army tactics and then use those tactics back on Indian army

Hundreds of Baloch youths join Pakistan Army

QUETTA*-*A passing out parade of Pakistan Army’s Baloch Regiment was held in Quetta on Saturday where a group of another 350 Baloch youths were sworn in.

Brigadier Khushnud Hussain was the chief guest of the event. He conferred shields and swords on the Jawans.
Speaking to media after the passing out ceremony, the brigadier said that Baloch youth were being given extraordinary exemptions in age and education as part of efforts to address sense of deprivation among them.
The youth belonged to different parts of restive provinces, including Mastaung, Quetta, Loralai, etc.

The Balochs took oath of loyalty for Pakistan and expressed their resolve to sacrifice their lives in the line of duty.
Some of them spoke to private television channels who covered the event that they wanted to serve their motherland Pakistan.
Last year thousands of Baloch youth joined the Pakistan’s powerful military. Balochistan has been witnessing a low-level insurgency waged by nationalist elements, demanding more provincial autonomy while some of them fighting for independence.

Good...very Good ! Though I wonder one of two things - 1) allegedly thousands of Kashmiri youth have joined the Security Forces too...so what does a comparative then tell us ? And 2) Why do we never do things proactively ? What was wrong with doing this something like 20 years ago ?
