SRINAGAR: Three Army jawans were killed on Monday in an encounter with militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara, Times Now reported.

The gunbattle between the security forces and militants is still under way.

It was not immediately clear if the other side suffered any losses during the encounter.

Three army personnel died on Monday in an encounter with militants in north Kashmir’s Handwara area, reports said.

They added that the ecnounter which is still raging in Hafruda forests has so far claimed lives of three army personnel.

Army’s 6 RR had launched massive searches following inputs about the movement of some militants in the area since last two days, reported GNS.

Late last evening, after conducting searches in the vast area, the forces intercepted a group of militants in dense bushes at Tilpatren forest area, some 7 KMs from Hafruda forests, sourcs told the agency.

After being intercepted, the group was engaged in a gunfight by the forces, they said.

In the fierce gunfight, three army men were killed and another one is reportedly missing in the area, they said.

Another encounter between militants and forces is also underway in the Krusan area of the state.

One militant has been killed and an AK-47 recovered from him.

SRINAGAR: At least four soldiers and one militant were killed on Monday as two gunbattles raged in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.

Four jawans lost their lives in the gunbattle with the militants during an operation launched in Haphruda forest in Handwara following information about presence of militants there, an Army spokesperson said.

One militant was killed in an earlier encounter that broke out during an operation in Lolab area, the spokesperson said.

On Sunday, two militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit, believed to be Pakistanis, were killed and a soldier was injured in an encounter in Pulwama district.

The slain militants were identified as Salim alias Adil Pathan and Rehman alias Burmi, police sources had said, adding they were suspected to be Pakistani nationals.

Pakistan-based JeM has been responsible for several major attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi, including the one on Parliament on December 13, 2001.

TRAL, October 05: Amid complete shutdown and-pro-freedom slogans, thousands of people Monday participated in the funeral processions of the slain foreign militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad at Bargam village of Tral area of Pulwama district, locals told Sachnews Jammu Kashmir.
The peopel from all adjoining areas poured in to attend the funeral of slain militants while chanting the freedom slogans.
A complete shutdown was also observed in the restive twonship to mourn the death of the militants. All Shops, schools and offices remained closed. Adil Pathan and Chota Burmi were killed in an encounter with government forces at Hari Parigam village of Tral on Sunday

Im never going in kashmir for tour i dont want my money to be used for insurgence and every Indian should do that,as Kashmir gets money mainly by tourism.
