I am not denying our losses or sufferings, but the dz army manage to adopt to the new type of warfare in a very very short time..Beside our case was different from yours..We had a world embargo in a time where Russia was in disarray..We were Syria of today's, with the same countries implicated, without Russian help , Hezbollah and Iran..
If Egypt case resemble 1/10 of what Syria had been going thru, Egypt would have disappeared from the map...

Well, you have to give the credit to the Egyptian army then.. for not allowing even that 1/10th to happen, and with less than 1% of its armed forces..

Egypt's F-16s have had PGMs for decades, with a slew of types of munition from GBU's of several types, to JDAMs. Now with the Rafales, they pack quite a punch with the French AASMs, SCALP EG and MBDA Apache. The Apaches helos can record a lot of the Hellfire strikes on targets as well and the Egyptian Armed Forces have been recording many of these strikes for a while, now. The trick is to get these targets ahead of time and not after they attack.

EDIT: And also the WingLoong MALE UCAV has some terrific strike capability and they've been using it. They should get the dedicated UCAV in the WingLoong II when it's available.

That is the Ideal.. but a bit difficult to achieve since the terrorists use civilian clothings and vehicles! You need to stop or monitor all movements in the Sinai for that to become realistic.. all those farms, cities and villages as well as the roads.. quite a difficult task..but most of it can be achieved..a small percentage will always slip through here and there which requires more vigilance from the soldiers and officers on the field..
