MiG-29K/KUB operations [VIDEO]

Love the Mig29Ks

Probably the best combat aircraft you can buy for 35 Million USD
I am in favour of the Navy acquiring another 30 Mig29Ks and cancelling the N LCA, which will never match the Mig29Ks in performance

NLCAs are not to mach Mig 29ks but to get a sanction free air crafts with ease in maintenance. IN suffered a lot due to spare part issues with the old Harrier.

The operational costs will also quite low compared to N LCA.

More than that, it is about the industrial benefits. India can't go from where it is today to devloping the F35C or even F-18SH overnight, it needs to develop the basics of carrier aviation. Buying high end foreign military equipment today is necessary but in the long term it will have to be Indian and there are no shortcuts to success

Great this aircraft is quantum leap ahead of original MIG 29 IAF bought which are being modernized now. This is going to be mainstay of indian navy for quiet some time now

could this be a silly question by me, if mig 29 k is much potent for naval fighter jet, then why chinese didnt reverse engineered it for its carrier operations??

Perhaps, Chinese has been busy in reverse engineering AC and mastering its SOP...

Just amazing.. Absolute Beauty... We need more of these birds..

Yup :D

2015 ops of the IN.

That is some nice footage there. Though I do have some technical niggles :D
The videos have been shot either with DSLRs or Camcorders like the NEX. Which is understandable since their size and form-factor are suited for journalistic use. But the 'juddering' visuals don't look very nice. Better bracing or the use of shoulder-rigs would have helped in these shots.

Its the most beautiful bird in India now... I like the design even better than MKIs.

they're sexy planes no doubt but the air force UPG with the hump look preggers, thankfully these navy Ks still look sleek and fit.

but nothing beat the mkis imo, those are a whole other level of sexeh :smitten:

It is very exciting to see the MiG-29 line continue to evolve and thrive.

@Abingdonboy I might sound stupid but I want to know what type of actual payload and range envelopes these machines can achieve when working off of ski-jump equipped aircraft carriers and is it any different from the catapult ones???
(I know that we haven't switched to catapults and ergo the doubt).
