ago. The deal, which is worth approximately $7 billion cannot be executed by manufacturer Dassault until such a payment is made and will no doubt be on the agenda for Qatari prime minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani’s visit to Paris

Good catch!! They are waiting to see what modifications we will order.

From the existing F3R's yes.

Delivery for Qatar, from 2018 to 2019. But obviously delayed now.

6 - Two seaters
18 - Single seater
24 in Total.

thanks ..
why not consider f-35's ? any specific reason ?

An answer, and a question!

well i personally would chose Rafale , because of its Multi role capability , and it comes with some ToT , i don't think US will give such perks .

Be it India, Egypt, Qatar or us. Sorry no ToT. Only advantage is the French don't ask who you bomb and why, you can even modify your aircraft as much as technically possible.

Hey Khafee mate! & Calm down everyone, here goes the explanation :

The Qatari asked for a full training cursus in France for its pilots. That's more or less the 6.3 to 7 B Euros difference!
This calls for AdlA to select which airplanes, which instructors ( i.e. qualified pilots ) and how this was to proceed.
The process running over many years has to be ISO-foolproof. Until it was done, Qatar could not finalize the deal.

That is ready for approval now and the trip of the Qatari PM / Sheik makes it a great photo opportunity.
And no, the deliveries are not set back nor in any way affected. That is Dassault's job and they know how to do it as
tripling production output is under way. The planes will be there on time.

Remember how Qatari pilots were integrated in the AdlA raids in the Lybian affair for their 1st international outing?
One can venture they liked their experience? 8-)

Good evening all, Tay.
