The chief of the Iranian Navy has underscored the need for the further enhancement of ties with China in different areas, particularly in the defense and maritime sectors.

In a Thursday meeting with his Chinese counterpart Admiral Wu Shengli in China’s capital, Beijing, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari called for the promotion of bilateral naval cooperation to fight piracy and terrorism as well as to establish global peace and security.

During the meeting, both officials emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and technical know-how between the two countries’ naval forces.

They also called for holding joint naval exercises in high seas.

Sayyari also held a separate meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan on Thursday, where the Iranian official attached great importance to its relations with China and voiced Tehran’s readiness to enhance bilateral naval cooperation with Beijing.

According to a report by China's official Xinhua news agency, Chang, for his part, expressed Beijing’s willingness to work with the Islamic Republic “to further pragmatic cooperation and strengthen military-to-military ties.”

He said that Iranian and Chinese armed forces have had “good cooperation on mutual visits, personnel training and other fields in recent years.”

Iran and China have recently boosted their naval cooperation.

Earlier in September, the 17th Chinese Naval Escort Fleet, including the missile destroyer Changchun and missile frigate Changzhou, docked at the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas.

On March 4, 2013, the 24th fleet of Iran’s Navy, comprising Sabalan destroyer and Kharg helicopter carrier, docked at China’s port city of Zhangjiagang after sailing 13,000 kilometers in 40 days.

The Iranian Navy said in a statement on September 17 that Iran’s naval forces rescued a Chinese container ship from an attack by pirates in the Gulf of Aden.

The Chinese vessel was reportedly on its way from Singapore to the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia when it came under attack. It continued its voyage after being rescued from the pirates.

BTW, our current naval budget is running pretty tightly as the rapid expansion of our navy.

We seriously need some cash, and these are the toys that China might be intended selling to Iran.

The 4500 tons Type 054A frigate.

That type 54 is a monster of a warship:cheers:

For now, we couldn't give a crap about the feeling of the US, and they couldn't do a damn thing to us even we openly sell the weapons to Iran.

China has almost 1.4 billion people to feed and to increase their living standard, so we simply couldn't develop our military technology at the expense of our people's livelihood.

And I think this visit is not a normal visit, they must be talking about something big.

Well, Unfortunately Iran is sanctioned from within. Few years ago parliment passed a law that government is not allowed to import any kind of weapon unless that kind is not possible to be built domestically.so instead, Iran, Russia and China can have joint projects.that 150 seats air plane is a great example.

Iran has the 1500 tons Jamaran, so China can offer the 4500 tons Type 054A frigate with the VLS capability.

Iran has the 2200 tons Kilo sub, so China can offer the 3600 tons Type 039A sub with the AIP capability.

These toys are currently out of Iran's radar, and China can also offer the good discount with the TOT bundle package deal.

Yes, those are difinitely out of our range.but for lighter vessels, we need to have joint project.that applies to other fields too.

BTW, Chia must cut her military reletionship with KSA and Israel if she wants to have Iran as her reliable ally.respect has to be earned as well.I assure you, China can find much more interest in Iran in comparison to other ME countries.we have much more potential.

As for Israel, we don't have much military relationship with them. Back in the 1990s, we did try to purchase early warning technology from them, but the deal was getting derailed by the US. Afterward, we don't have much military exchange with them.

As for KSA, consider our military relationship with Pakistan, it is hard to do that without a valid reason.

BTW, I think your leaders will take an evaluation about this possible military deal by themselves.
