A political analyst says that Israel cannot attack Iran and these are nothing but threats because Israel is a very weak country and it is nothing but a tiger of cartoon which has lots of weaknesses in its surrounding borders.

The comments came after the Israeli military chief Lt. Gen Benny Gantz repeated warmongering rhetoric against the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying the regime can invade Iran on its own. This is while the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee has adopted a resolution to assist Israel in case of a military attack against Iran. On Tuesday, the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee adopted "Senate Resolution 65," according to which the US will provide the Israeli regime with diplomatic, economic and military assistance if Tel Aviv decides to launch an attack against Iran.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Redwan Rizk, political commentator, to further discuss the issue. What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Israel has constantly being threatening Iran, not only are these comments not being condemned but the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee has passed a resolution to aid Israel if it attacks a sovereign nation. Now can you tell us in your perception how events have transpired so far?

Rizk: Well I think that we have been hearing lots of threats from Israel towards Iran and this taking place since years of the Iranian nuclear [energy] plan begun.

Now we are not surprised that the Americans do have the wish and the will to attack Iran but I know that they cannot do that because they cannot bear the consequences.

Israel must realize that time has changed and it proved that Israel only was a powerful country because simply the Arabs allowed Israel to be a powerful country and gave her the niche over other countries in the area.

Now what is happening around Israel proves also and very hard evidence in the air that Israel is a very weak country and it is nothing but a tiger of cartoon which is very weak and has lots of weaknesses in its surrounding borders.​

And what’s happened, let’s take an example this morning that two small rockets were fired from Sinai Desert and landed in Eilat, they could not defend that what they called the shield over Israel.

So how can they just take this, let’s say, an action against Iran and do any foolish steps towards Iran by attacking any target in Iran? Can they bear the thousands of rockets which is going to land on the capital city of Tel Aviv and the major city of Haifa?

I do not think they can, technically I do not think also they have the ability to reach Iran or to attack any target despite their threatening, it is remaining words and they are trying to elevate their moral support to the Israelis or to the people in Israel so in order to keep them tight together because I think the Israeli society or the people in Israel, their moralities is falling apart and they are feeling that so much danger around they cannot keep on in control and occupy more lands of the Palestinian soil or do any destruction to the Palestinian people.​

So these I do not take it very seriously because Israel cannot do such a foolish step. It is only threats and nothing but threats.

Israel will never engage in a military conflict against Iran, without the US. If they could do it, without seriously damaging themselves in the process, they would have a long time ago.
The war rhetoric really amped up in 2005. Its been 8 years, and still nothing.
Iran is in a considerably stronger position now, than in 2005.

Agree with this part. But Iran is not facing Israel only, it will also have to worry about KSA's diplomatic power in Washington and you can bet they will do everything in their capacity to get the US to attack Iran by "helping" Israel.

However, the American strategy will revolve around using the carriers and air bases in the Gulf to target Iranian nuclear sites instead of putting troops on the ground against the Revolutionary Guards.

Why ? We are a peaceful nation that never started a war in more than 200 years .
And also we never threatened to start a war . We always said that retaliation would be painful . On other hand isral and us have always threatened us with war and preemptive strike. Even us senste announced that israek can declare a war between usa and iran so . Its not up to us to start a war . If you want war start it yourself
