The moment Taliban will settle their issues with US and West, then they will turn their backs towards Pakistan and its Army. They never accepted Durand line nor they will be.

It is only Northern Alliance which is not pro-Pakistan.

Not quite sure where you guys are getting your information from.

If Afghans are tired of Durand line we can fix that, strategic depth can become more than a theory.

They could have just said Pakistan is a good neighbor and we will respect their borders and leave it that. Common decency. But then IEA providing cover for TTP suggests alterior motives.

Pakistan should have fully gone full NATO ally and wiped them out and I am pretty sure NA anti Pakistani government would not have been installed, Bin Laden would have captured by PA and APS would not have happened. You got suicide bombed anyway so what for the mini civil war you would have had to fight to wipe out the AQ followers.

What was the moment US cut of intelligence sharing?Damage has already been done.

Few 5th columns who would say the wildest of things that are not even attached to current ground realities. But the truth is they just haven't seen the reality our policies have changed and today's region political reality is different and we are going opposite direction to what they are mostly thinking or assuming.. The regional politics is just not there where they think it is. It is completely different landscape where Afg is an all weather important ally due to our geo-political reality in Today's world.

Both are allies because of geo-political realities, including trade and connectivity which is very key for Pakistan and one of the reasons the economy never recovered since the 70s because of the turmoil in Afg had a direct effect on our economy but now our exports are incresing and in the next 3-5 years it will normalize and increase due to trade with Central Asia because of the connectivity

This is on the basis the people you are dealing with are consistent. History proves otherwise.

This is the Taliban begging US for support against Soviets

So why did they take Bin Laden $$$ and implemented his ideology and still do today which supported attacks on their very own dear ally USA? Why did they allow for TTP to operate inside Afghanistan to attack Pakistan who were also their ally during the cold war?

Their honor code surely makes them understand loyalty no?

Things just don't add up.

Pakistan could have avoided the blowback but they were flirting with this AQ ideology and paid a price because AQ declared Pakistan as hostile. TTP gained a foothold and the chaos began.

This is exactly what I am talking about.. Absolutely garbage cesspool void of intellect what does this even have anything to do with what I said. Besides getting allies is the abc of politics especially in conflict if you can get one to strengthen you than you go for it. What they did was the right choice to ally themselves with the Americans besides these were not even IEA but alas you get my point.. They could ally again if the stars align for them and in fact anyone could become allies in the world if the stars align for them.. That is just politics 101! Besides don't quote me anymore I don't wanna lose brain-cells

India is mostly a Hindu majority country.
Afghanistan is a Muslim majority country where Pathans form the majority.

I am Pashtun Idky I have to keep telling others this.

Pashtuns aren't a monolith, we are all divided into tribes. Even Pashto doesn't have a standard form. Each district, tehsil, khel all have separate dialects. An Afridi (Apridai) and a Yousafzai have 2 very differing dialects of Pashto.

Now you may look on paper and see Afghanistan is 40% Pashtun and Pakistan is 15% Pashtun, with majority of us living in Pakistan and think its a good idea.

First, the Afghan King and Kabulyan khinzeer sold us to the British and afterwards didn't want anything to do with our liberation efforts. Even Afridi tribe went to the King and asked them for help but the King refused. There were, of course, the Afridi: the Khyber Pass’ most powerful tribe. Following the Durand Agreement in 1893, the British were emboldened in governing the frontier tribes more directly, triggering a massive tribal rebellion in 1897, with the valiant stand of the Yusufzai at the Siege of Malakand the most prominent feature. The Afridi also rebelled, even approaching Abdul Rahman, in the spirit of Afghan and Islamic solidarity, for assistance in their jihad. Abdul Rahman blanketly rejected their plea for direct help [40], even as he turned a blind eye to and discreetly aided an ‘exodus’ of Afghans traversing the Line to join their brethren in fighting the British. [41]

Afghanistan only had a problem when Pakistan became a thing and even supported separatist movements. Another thing you have to realize is that a merger was actually in the talks under Bhutto, but eventually said no because Afghanistan was dirt poor.

Finally, the likes of TTP and certain sections of Afghan Taliban absolutely loathe and despise ethnicities within Afghanistan and ethnicities in Pakistan. Bulk of people in Afghanistan think Pakistan is an apostate system and regularly takfir Punjabis and call their culture and way of life an apostate way of life.

The Pakistan project has succeeded, meaning despite the differences that we all encounter in the groups that live on this land, we all call ourselves Pakistani and have built an idenitiy surrounding this nationality. This has caused an incredible difference between the way Lar Pashtana (Pakistani Pashtuns) and Bar Pashtana (Afghanistani Pashtuns) conduct and act towards others and themselves.

Reunion was possible until the 70's now the differences is starting to become stark. As Pakistanis evolve and develop there will be an inevitable clash of civilizations with them. Best way is to do the Turkey method, dump all of them across the durrand and seal the border. Just as @Menace2Society said

Dear talibs, you are stepping on the same mine that below the bodies of rulers of Afghanistan before you. Better stay away from this, or be prepared to face the same fate.

Those who don't accept our territorial integrity, cannot be our friends.
Taliban are the same Afghan who are deluded with supremacy complex and still live in Ahmed Shah Abdali era.
