Doctors Hospital killed my 3 Year Old Daughter

I am extremely saddened by your daughters passing and may ASWT give her a place in heaven. But I don't think you should criminalize the whole hospital. My father and uncle both had hear attacks and their operations were done at Doctor's Hosptial. I have at least 4 friends whose family members have been treated there. Like I said, the doctor should be brought to justice, but to try and shut down and entire hospital that saves people's lives on a daily basis is ridiculous. I understand that you are upset right now but you need to be realistic. When a doctor in the States is sued for malpractice- I've never heard of the hospital being shut down.

She is not ma daughter. I read the news in paper and opened and thread.

The purpose to open the thred is that to aware the Doctors irresponsibilites, ignorance and un professnalism in Pakistan.

Last month Huma Wasem (Waseem Akram Spoue) lost her life coz of poor treatment in Pakistan. So the reason is to aware where our docotrs aheading.

MZUBAIR, she was your daughter? I saw the case yesterday on Geo TV.

My Taya was treated at doctor's hospital by one of the best renowned docor of Pakistan, for an emergency bypass surgery. The surgery was successful but however after the surgery, the post operation care was screwed up.

Pakistan has excellent doctors but the after care staff stinks. They have really bad bed side manners and don't take their duty seriously.

Of course and we all know that doctors hospital charges like insane.

Two officials of Doctors Hospital held

LAHORE: Johar Town police on Monday arrested Doctors Hospital General Manager Ziaul Hasan Bukhari and Dr Hafiz Sanaullah for their “criminal negligence” that resulted in the death of three-year-old Imanae Malik on November 29. Imanae died when a doctor at the hospital administered high-potency anaesthesia to the child when she was brought to the hospital for treatment of minor burn injuries to her hand. According to a private TV channel, efforts were underway to arrest Dr Sundeep Kumar and a police party had also been sent to his hometown of Ghotki in Sindh. Kumar administered the anaesthesia to Imanae after Sanaullah asked him to treat her. staff report/daily times monitor

Hello All,

I just read this article and feel compelled to write a few words myself.

I too have been a victim of this so called "Elite Hospital". My father had Bypass surgery here a year and a half ago. About 8 months ago he started having pain in his back. I got him admitted in this hospital for a week. They did pretty much every single test (from cancers to organ tests to Morphology) but could not diagnose it. After that the ridicoulous doctor started avoiding us. My mother and i literally faced insult from him just so that we could get some good treatment for my dad. They DIDI NOTHING!!!!

He passed away a month later! When they were executing CPR on him, i was enraged to see the guys laughing and telling jokes when my father's heart had stopped beating. They were having fun!!!!!!!! while my father was dying. Its been seven months now, but those i still remeber those moments as if they happened today.

At that moment, i just considered it to be Allah's will and ignored their "humanity". But know, i am sure it was their carelessness that tore my family to shreads. I would like to contribute to this movement. I have heard that the CM has asked for people to file their complaints against this hospital. If someone knows anything about any forum at which i can raise my case, please do let me know.

Regards,
Usman

More vigilance after Imanae?
As a part of the medical profession, I am aware of the pressures one faces in the workplace. The emergency room is buzzing with patients round the clock, demanding treatment and asking to be prioritised. Often, patients expect doctors to be God-like, capable of diagnosing and treating the disease in the same breath. Doctors are also expected to provide medications that act more like magic potions than pharmaceutical drugs. In case a medical practitioner fails to do so, he or she is snubbed and pronounced a good-for-nothing. Of course, despite the high expectations, doctors make mistakes too, which in the medical profession can prove to be fatal.

The fact is, doctors work with a very thin margin for error. In Pakistan, medical practitioners have earned a bad reputation due to an increasing number of reported cases of negligence. Most of our hospitals lack proper equipment, and far too many lack properly trained physicians, which makes it all worse.

Recently, a nine-year old child lost his life during an orthopedic surgery. According to the parents, the child was in good health and walked to the operation theatre only to be pronounced dead a little later. I watched the news horrified and convinced that something had gone wrong with the administration of anaesthesia. This was later confirmed by statements from the hospital staff. Unfortunately, the report never made it any further than a news flash on a private television channel. The reason: the child’s parents were probably not influential enough and the matter was hushed without a word. Moreover, since this was far from the first incident of criminal negligence in Pakistan, it probably wasn’t news-worthy enough to keep on the tickers.

Then, on the second day of Eid-ul-Azha, three-year-old Imanae Malik was taken to the Doctor’s Hospital,Lahore, for treatment for minor burns. According to reports, Imanae was repeatedly injected with anaesthesia, and the accumulated dosage caused her death within minutes of administration.

Since then Imanae’s father has launched a campaign and accused the hospital staff of criminal negligence. The family has also taken legal action and is willing to proceed further into the matter. This is indeed a bold and much-needed step that could help to bring about a change and ensure that, in the future, matters such as these are handled with utmost care.

Accountability is the first step towards clarifying what really happened. Without accountability, it will be impossible to analyse the situation. Updates from the campaign site suggest that the committee has confessed to criminal negligence on part of the duty doctor. An in-depth analysis shows that the hospital authorities were completely negligent since the doctor accused was a part-timer appointed for night emergencies. The hospital authorities remain unaware of the person responsible for appointing the doctor involved in this case.

A look at the details suggest that this is a classic example of criminal negligence, an affront that should not be tolerated and instead eliminated through sustained vigilance in all public and private hospitals, and, in particular, emergency rooms.

Imanae is not the only one to suffer at the hand of negligence, and if we don’t take action now, such incidents will continue. Strict laws need to be implemented in order to make health professionals more cautious and to minimise the margin for error. At the same time, we must acknowledge that negligence isn’t intentional either. It is important to distinguish between taking a stance criminal negligence and persecuting health professionals.

I would like to take this opportunity to request that the people educate themselves, remain aware of their rights, and most importantly, stop expecting doctors to act like gods, because they are only human. Patients are also in a position to reduce the cases of criminal negligence. They should know that it is their right to demand an explanation about treatments and understand any complications that may arise from medications or procedures that are administered to their loved ones.

As a nation, let’s not trust blindly and let’s make an effort to report any incidents of negligence to ensure that no parent has to lose another child to negligence. Although we cannot bring Imanae back, our support will help educate people about their rights and make hospital authorities and health professionals more cautious about misconduct.

Dr Sandeep Kumar was on duty when Imanae was brought to the hospital. The report said Kumar prescribed improper medicines to the girl, causing her death.

The report said Kumar hailed from Ghotki, Sindh, it was his first day on duty at the hospital when the incident took place.

How he got the knowledge and courage to administrate 3 anesthetic injections at a time for treatment of minor burning while it was his first day of duty?!

I'm feeling sad for that little.

BTW, where is that criminal doctor now?

As Allah is the best judge, Muslims believe, so he must take care of this innocent.

But what about these nonsense doctors?

Doctors Hospital was also responsible of poor treatment of Huma Akram.
In above news post its clearly said by Waseem Akram that Doctors of "Doctors Hospital" and "National Hospital" were responsbile of her death.

Some times doctors actions cannot be justified..they forget all the ethics and ran after the money..In my state Kerala medical college doctors and government is in cold war..last month only we witnessed many strikes..Even if a doctor was punished for his negligence rest of the doctors will start strike and pressurise government to withdraw the punishment and for the sake of poor patients govt has to oblige..this happnd so many time..The latest strike was for salary hike..Most of the senior doctors get about 1 to 2 lakh rs as salary and also not to forget all the commissions from medicines and private laboratories..
