Bangladesh wants to buy Russia’s Yak-130 & SU-27 !

Harassed by Burma , how low can this get ...

....still Hasina , flaunts her sari and acts like a tough women

Bangladesh needs a Man to make bold decisions and side with Pakistan/china instead of running away from silly nations like Burma

first run your own country then advise others....

Loan has been approved for Bangladesh for YAK-130 and Su-27 !

Su-27SM2: 4.5-gen block upgrade for Russian Su-27, featuring some technology of the Su-35BM; it includes Irbis-E radar, and upgraded engines and avionics.

The loan is $850 million and the choice of purchase is BD's within this money. Of course, Russia will not supply us the newest tech goods. Since Su-27SM2 has a few technologis incorporated also in Su-35BM, therefore, some Indian posters are forecasting Russia will not supply us the Su-27SM2s.

Russia's state intermediary agency for export/imports of defense-related product or Rosoboronexport representative Sergey Kornev has expressed: "As far as I know the loan has been approved. Within its amount Bangladesh can choose the number of planes it will buy and their modifications". Kornev added that "Russia will grant a loan to Bangladesh to buy 12 Yak-130 planes and Su-27 jet fighters". He did not mention the sum of the loan. He was speaking at the China Airshow 2012 which is underway in the Chinese city of Zhuhai.

Bangladesh Air Force(BAF) is interested in buying Russia’s jet trainer/light attack aircraft Yak-130, MiG-29SMT and Su-27SM2.

Typical pakistani quote... They have to put JF-17 in everything... They even put Su-30, J-10, F-18 on the same tray as JF-17. It is like comparing a Mercedes Benz with a auto-rickshaw...
what Pakistani quote has to do with this. Its you who are confused lot.You guys have no idea what you want to buy and then end up with the BGI to achieve air superiority.well Pakistan is not famous for auto rickshaw BD is, but our auto rickshaw can knockout anything in BD inventory.Hopefully next time we will see BD wants to buy SU 35, but bought BGI to achieve pure air superiority. What a laughing stock you are

Confusion is within the posters in the forum not BAF. BD establishment is not open about such things hence the wild speculations.

BD will always buy Chinese because thats all we can afford. With the inking of the nuclear plant with Russia Bangladesh has now inked defense agreements. It all makes sense.

Don't know technical specifics but I am sure BD will buy the best combination of specification
and numbers within the available funds.

Why do you guys talk like a child? Why it is important to quote a newspaper headline about air superiority when the reporter do not have the smallest idea what is the difference between a helicopter and a mig. Better talk like a man who do not find faults with every word or semicolon in a newspaper report, and do not bash us by quoting an ignorant newspaper.

Look, it is only a few BD posters who are confused, not the BAF. As it is with PAF, IAF and all other airforces, there are mixes of lows and highs. BD has old A-5s and F-7MBs that needed to be replaced with better ones. So, we have this purchase of BGIs. Since we already have Mig-29s, therefore, it is a low/high mix.

The next step BAF is taking is to raise its total level of capability. BAF has decided to procure YAK-130 training planes and will retire the old training planes.

BAF is simultaneous talking with Russia also to purchase Su-27. It is a great platform which will elevate our airforce to a respectable level. Not only this, BAF will also purchase 8 units of Mig-29SMT and will upgrade its existing Mig fleet to SMT level. Total purchase this time from Russia is 32-40 units of 4.5G planes excluding the YAKs. So, I do not see any inconsistencies in the BAF purchasings of BGIs, YAKs, Migs or Sukhois.

can't understand what Bangladesh really wants to buy. They are confused.Sometime we hear they want to buy JF17, J10, SU30,F18, and now this new one SU 27.

There was never any F-18 or Su-35 in our fighter acquisition program.

And yes, we did look into the JF-17 before that. The reasons why we aren't going to induct them had been discussed countless times.

Su27 is a heavy weight fighter and good for the cox bazar air force base
which is near burma and also at the same time petrol the sea

Burma air force will not be so crap in future as the sanction has been lifted and good relation are going with the western countries
