would make more sense for a privately run channel to engage in such ventures.

It has nothing to do with interfering with Propaganda. They are not asking ZeeTV to telecast Indian News. PTV can have full control on the content they will telecast. PTV move is all about encouraging Pakistani producers to make more of their product and sell it to new Indian market.

PTV can not buy rights (all the) for many games which Zee TV can, vise a verse. Its a win win situation for both ZeeTV and PTV. PTV can telecast sports and ZeeTV will share the revenue of advertise from PTV.

reportedly Geo Tv is the one which will suffer most as their sports channel then will have nothing to show to the audiences. Geo tv is the one who is opposing this deal through his media due to his own business priorities in Pakistan.

When they enter Pakistani market they will air whatever will appeal to the Pakistanis....they are business houses & will do business for profit.

Some one please clear my confusion here.The bold part concerns broadcasting rights in Pakistan right ?? So does it mean that no foreign channels are allowed in Pakistan .. not only Indian but say British or American like CNN and BBC ?? Because i could swear i once saw an youtube video which had BBC Urdu watermarked, clearly targeted for Pakistani audience.

Zee TV is of the same group who sell "dishtv" dth iinm. they are illegally selling dth boxes outside India including Pakistan. they are big corporates agreed..though without having any ethics to partner with PTV?

why this move? perhaps Zee tv has investors indirectly from Pakistan who have lobbied for such a collaboration. otherwise, there is no natural reason for a private Indian television network company partnering with Enemy's national Television.

well i dont know much but this is said that if some one (international channels) want air legaly in Pakistan it should be a joint venture and for Pakistani public for example BBC is foreign channels but they hav especials service like urdu for Pakistanis same is the case for Cartoon network, HBO, CNBC, Al jazira, Neclodeon and so many others who hav colaborations with Pakistani channels or companies.......I hope tht govt implement this law and ban all ilegal channels airing in Pakistan (mostly are from india)
