YJ-1 series are Chinese supersonic antiship missiles initiated from 1970s.

YJ-12 was the first real supersonic antiship missile secretedly deployed to PLANY in the beginning of year 2000. It was rumored to have been installed on 052C in 2003. However, the specs were unknown until perhaps 2010 when an "insider" 当铺 commented 4Ma and 400km parameters for the airborne version. He also mentioned several YJ-1x variants were underdevelopment, among them YJ-18 was said to be a naval missile with 5+Ma and 500km range.

YJ-18, HQ-26 and laser airdefence gun are said to be installed on type 055 destroyer which would appear next year...

Mach 5+ and sea skimming with stealth shaping and coating would be very hard to intercept. Very significant is why publicly show this weapon at this time?

Now I am interested to know when we might see pictures of YJ-18 and YJ-22。:)

Evidence that the YJ-18 is a vertically launched supersonic anti-ship missile:

It could be that the 052Ds are equipped with this type of advanced ship-to-ship missile。

What about 055?

C-803 + YJ-12 + DF-21D, they'r swords for PLAN

. . . .
What's the difference between YJ-12, YJ-18 and YJ-22?

Apart from differences in range and typical crusing speed, the YJ-12 is air-launched whilst the YJ-18 is vertically launched from DDGs and submarines。Not much is known about the YJ-22,which could be the missile developed for use on the 12500-tonne Type 055 DDG。
