Said that PLAAF need at least 300 of these beasts. It could carry one 99A2 tank once, sound to be great. It will be a very strong vehicle to mobolize our infantry in global range.

My view are:

- Many IL-76 would be upgraded to dedicated Air Refuellers rest could be sold in open market nationally/internationally.
[news about more orders of IL-76MD is wrong China is confident of Y-20]
- Current IL-78 plus 8 more on order for Air Refuellers
- Many Y-8 could be replaced by Y-20 & Y-9
- Entire Y-7 could be replaced by Y-9
- Atleast 270 Y-20
The figure of 300-400 is long term however plans do change, we could see PLAAF/PLANF order a total of 300-320 at the most with atleast 18-20 for Chinese Navy AF as Tactical Transport.

Honestly it is all speculation even the preliminary report is just a report not final.
