Would Pakistanis specifically & Muslims in General Accept PIG HEARTS?

Our family mesaab (maulvi), used to often talk about the illusory nature of this life, this body is a shell, this world is a test and worldly gains are a burden. Now in his 60s, he was recently diagnosed with a kidney problem in the UK.

The NHS queue for his treatment was a few months - but in that time he went berserk. He went to every homeopath and peer in town. His face was ashen white all the time and he couldn't stop worrying.

In the end he flew to BD for quicker treatment, and from there he was sent to a place in India. He literally went around the world to save this little life.

Now he feels better and he never mentions that period again but every one of his flock witnessed the reality of life through him. Almost every mullah will take any treatment to live. And every mullah knows the value of money too.

i accept heart but not piggy heart. i remember years ago reading about Chinese government sourcing heart from prisoners and selling to Japanese rich business men. The end result was the Japanese donor receiver started to behave like criminal and habits of previous person who's heart he inherited.

i try finding article later and post it.

The question is that why, out of all animals, pig's heart suits human being, as a transplant?
Because of its compatibility with human body. The research is decades old, For centuries humans knew there are lot of similarities in various systems of human body with pigs.

Its beauty of nature. Science is only the tool that goes with facts.

This is a new question before the Ummah and there needs to be a discussion and a consensus on that matter. My personal take is that it is not halal to put it in your stomach, how come it becomes halal to put it in your chest and mix its blood with your blood.

Instead of pig, if there was a goat heart, that may be a more acceptable option.

There shouldn't be any religious discussion on scientific matters. Already we have eaten ourselves and we are doomed because of unnecessary fatwas. If we had qualified "ulemas" who are well versed in religions and at the same time pHds in sciences, they would never get us into such nonsense fatwas. Its clearly mentioned only eating is prohibited and even that is allowed as a medicine (if neccessary). Why need discussion for totally scientific & medical stuff.. religion shouldn't be dragged into it.

It is a new incident with no history in science or religion and second, it is about a haram animal. There should be discussions to understand what is Islamic guidance on this matter.

Take another example if you may, if you lose your tooth, will you put a pig's teeth in your mouth, or pig's tongue replace your own? How about injecting pig's blood into your veins along with your own? This sounds wrong, doesn't it? Since Muslims do not eat pigs, my take is most wouldn't be willing to accept any of its body parts.

Now between you and me, there is a difference of opinion and we're discussing. The same discussion is required at the country level and collectively at the Ummah level. You are right that qualified Ulemaa would be required to make a call on it and as Allah Kareem has said that Ummah wouldn't be wrong as a whole, it is a glad tiding for us and we can rely on the collective conclusion of Ummah Alhamdolillah. May Allah help us make the right call on it.

..... alcohol has no benefit nutritionally and causes organ failure

Not involving myself into a religious discussion. But here is an interesting fact.

Water filtration plant is a recent invention (perhaps 100-200 years old). In the ancient world, stomach diseases due to water contamination was common. Beer (Mesopotamia) and wine (mostly in Persia and later in the Roman world) are the best alternates. Later Alcohol became part of different cultures. Jurji Zaidan, in his famous book 'Cultural History of Islam' described a very interesting story about how during Ummyad time, market administrators put strict controls/restrictions on selling grapes in the market to discourage people making wine.

-Technology pioneered by a team led by Pakistani Dr. Mohiuddin

-Could save alot of DESI Lives as we have alot of Heart Issues

Whether we like it or not It is also a gods creation .
-Already seen alot of FATWAs and Counter FatWAs

-What do you guys thinks?

Dragging religion in scientific & medical discoveries is the recipe for disaster.

Secondly, the argument for tongue or teeth isn't valid as its not for life saving. That particular patient couldn't get a human heart transplant. Only option was genetically modified pig's heart. It was die or live using pig's heart. Its experimental procedure with no guarantee for longevity. But medical community and we hope it works as it can save countless lives. Any sane person will not find excuses or fatwas at this point where there is no other option at all. Humans doesn't require religion for common sense, The discussion would have had any point if the transplant is non-life saver. For example hair transplants, some beautification and you are getting PIG's parts then yes you may do discussion on whether its Haram or Halal. But for life-saving procedure and only option... there is no point at all for any discussion. Can religious community or Fatwa producers will offer any other alternative to dying person ?. Can their Dam / darood / Dua's will give guarantee to dying person that he won't die ?... Nope!.. Be practical!. Embrace science & technology with open hands.

@JawadKKhan You and I both are trying to follow the commandments of Allah and here's the exception/difference of opinion.

Your opinion is life-saving-essential is permissible once-off like taking alcohol as medicine and eating minimal pork to save one from dying. We have verdicts and commandments of Allah on that - Alhamdolillah.

My opinion is this is beyond that simple once-off usage scenario and it's perpetual living with a pig in your chest, mixing your blood with it. This is not the same as eating a few bits of pork fearing death but an ongoing life with a pig as your permanent body organ. This aspect needs a review among qualified Muslim scholars and we need to develop a consensus on this. Allah has His Hand on the Ummah's head (Hadees Qudsi) - and Allah will not misguide us Himself. Have faith.

Here the emphasis is on Qualified Muslim Scholars so you don't need to worry about street Molvi or peer sitting on graves.

Mulla fazl ur rehman already funded for his own

Question is will it work for long time or fail after some time? If it works well and sustains for a long time then I have no problem.
