Unfortunately, India is weak compared to China, but they are too strong compared to Pakistan. Indians don't need to use up to 40% of their power to stop Pakistan. (not to mention they will receive support from the US, Nato and Japan)

But wrt china , its a mental block. India has a good mix of western and Russian equipment. While chinese equipment is mostly Russian and their copies .
So the result is not a forgone conclusion.
And the Chinese never start a conflict unless assured of victory.
