Beijing

A strong cold front is expected to linger across central and eastern China for the next three days, causing dramatic temperature drops and precipitation, according to the nation's meteorological authority on Nov. 21.

Temperatures in parts of Hubei, Hunan, Henan and Anhui provinces will plunge by up to 16 degrees Celsius, according to a statement on the official website of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA).

The CMA has also activated a level-three emergency response, requiring meteorological sectors affiliated with CMA to prepare for emergencies caused by the chill. Potential affected areas include Beijing and Tianjin.

Despite inconvenience caused by the cold, many residents in Beijing are thrilled by the first snow of the year, which hit the capital on Nov. 21. Landmarks such as the Forbidden City and Great Wall are covered in a snowy coat, attracting visitors to enjoy their winter glory. (People's Daily Online)

Harbin

Harbin

Harbin in Vietnamese is "Cáp Nhĩ Tân". On my mobiphone, it is -13oC now.

On Thursday temperature in Hanoi will plunge by up to 10 degree C as well.

What, only 10 degree in Hanoi? Here in Canton delta is now 23 degree and raining.

As Chinese living in tropical country, I cannot imagine how cold Beijing or Harbin in the winter.

Stay in buildings with electricity, gas, steam and wifi at 24/7 :p:, WIFI is very important, I underline it again.

WIFI? Home sweet home!

Tropical weather is the worst!
Humidity is killing people!

You got the point, weather got bit extreme down here, too hot in mid day, two and half hour later heavy rain pass by. But like old Taoist ever say: Something that way too much, is not good.

Meili Snow Mountain:Godlike snow mountain in China
(Chinadaily.com.cn) November 25, 2016

Meili Snow Mountain, also known as Prince Snow Mountain, is located 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) northeast of Deqin County in Yunnan province. It sits on the border of Yunnan province and Tibet, where the three famous rivers, namely the Jinsha, Mekong (Nu) and Salwen (Lancang) flow. Known for the grandest view in Yunnan Province, Meili Snow Mountain boasts numerous snow-clad ridges and peaks, thirteen of which exceed 6,000 meters (19.685 feet) above the sea level. The most splendid view is of the Kawagebo Peak, the highest in Yunnan Province rising about 6,740 meters (22,112.86 feet). It is still a virgin peak for no one has ever reached the top. Meili Snow Mountain is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. Kang Karpo Peak means the God of Snow Mountain in Tibetan, and is a holy land for worshiping. [Photo/IC]
