What's new

Winter wonderland in China, just beautiful

Amazing that vetnam has snow in winter......

Yes, even to Vietnamese people.

In 1979 war, our soldiers, seeing snowfall in Ha Giang province, possibly first time in their life, thought it was chemical warfare by Chinese side.

To be more clear, at that time and before, communication and transportation between provinces were very difficult.

Before 1945, the quickest way to go from Lao Cai province to Hanoi was riding horse or car to Kunming city in China, around 300km away, and from there, took a flight to Hanoi.

just in some places in Vietnam

It only snows in the mountains in North Vietnam / China border (i.e. Sa Pa)

Did you guys know it also snows in the mountains of Africa?

Snow in mountains is nothing special. Vietnam is not a temperature country with 4 distinct seasons.

Amazing Changbai Mountain in winter

The Changbai Mountain is generally acknowledged as the most famous mountain range in Northeast China. It spans the border between China's Jilin Province and North Korea. It takes its Chinese name from the color of the winter snow and the white volcanic pumice scattered on its slopes. [Photo by Tian Gao]

Snow only falls in high elevation of Vietnam. Snow falls in Nghe An this year and Nghe An is more than 100 miles south of Hanoi.

Winter in china different than winter in North America. When it snows here, there will be hundreds if accidents on the main highways and you will take three hours to get to work.
