Why Pakistan Army desperate for New tank

Exactly, this Beast Altay is much better and more powerful heavy machine, I wish it should induct in our inventory. Pakistan must work together with Turkey.

Pakistan has already lost its interests in Al-Khalid I/II, MBT 3000, Oplot, and many failed tanks in many of the world.

We don't need Turkish Balalaina Altay or something else, Pakistan has lacking of Engine 1500hp in its AK-Tank inventory, weight is much lighter than M1 or Altai. both tanks average weight is 60+Tons than 50 Tons of AKI/II which is as per parameters of Pakistan Army of Light weight Modern MBT.

.
Friends why PA is so desprate for bew tank when we have wide range of tanks

AK 1
AK 2
T 80UD
AL ZARRAR
With these tanks we can go next 10 years with no probleum and with AK 3 in blue prints why need to invest on another beast when we need 8x8 wheeled APC and we need to replace 3 decades old Assault rifleswhy miss use limited funds on things which we dont need desprately
Not desperate, just testing new systems which is good.

Remember we have answers upto Arjun Mark I. For mark 2 we need more! @Dazzler

Dosen't Pakistani Army prefer Medium Wt Tank over Heavy weight Tank. Lot of Pakistani experts in this public forums telling Wieght problems related to Ground pressure.

It is called upgrading and it is standard practice.

Than better practice on those items which are 3 to 4 decades old not 1 decade old we must replace our ageing artillery gun our G 3A3 and buy Stryker type attacking APC

We have a good stock for our eastern borders but we are lull on western sides. We need some tanks for Pak-Afghan borders.
Light tanks of older T series excluding T-80UDs and T-85IIs are all suitable for Western front but they are not technologically sound. Al-Zarrar can also be operated in semi-hilly terrain. We need more drones and Attack helis for Western Border. Cantonments will be setlled in FATA very soon inshaAllah. 2 divisions of army and same amount of FC soldiers can take care of that front.

Ah Pak is only waiting for Altay :)

Altay is a good choice for Pakistan Army. Now this scenario is resembling PAF's case. Under 50 tons and Over 50 tons doctrine of Pak Army si similar to single or twin engine doctrine of PAF. Heavy Industry Taxila can work with Turks to make this tank suitable for our requirements and standards plus a good ToT.

Over 50 tons are suitable for hard terrains like central Punjab and few areas of Sindh. Otherwise sand is not hospitable for heavy tanks. Pakistan also sorted out this problem in the trials of M1 Abrams in Bahawalpur.

Altay should be able to replace even the Leo2A4´s.

Leo2A4 weight is about 55tons.
