Salam Alaikum bro,
Could you shed some light on the bold part please?
i love reading your posts for obvious reasons
AK III project might be revealed next year... It's been in the works since long... Financial issues has put the project in the back burner... But the defence committee has already announced that (yesterday)... According to interviews (with Janes) HIT spokesperson had already given hints like 6-10 major changes in the tank... Armour, engine etc... What the end product is ... We will have to wait to see that...
As for Turkish Altay... There were reports of HIT buying some systems (imagery systems) used in Altay fir AK.. Because ;
I)the systems were comparable to the ones we get from France.
II)Turkish systems were also affordable as compared to tge French.
The older types night still be replaced by sbither foriegn tank.... But AK will remain our workhorse!
Ah Pak is only waiting for Altay
Friends why PA is so desprate for bew tank when we have wide range of tanks
AK 1
AK 2
T 80UD
AL ZARRAR
With these tanks we can go next 10 years with no probleum and with AK 3 in blue prints why need to invest on another beast when we need 8x8 wheeled APC and we need to replace 3 decades old Assault rifleswhy miss use limited funds on things which we dont need desprately
Pakistan should test South Korean Tank also.G-3 is also to be replaced ... A committee was formed by the army for that purpose...
AK III seem to me as totally different Tank . I think it would have lot more changes than what HIT guy told JaneAK III project might be revealed next year... It's been in the works since long... But such selection processes take such a long time... Old timers checking, double checking ..
Thanks alot, now everything is clear in my mind
BTW did you know potentiel contenders of Pak army next generation of rifle, what did Pak army think about our new G-3M's?
Will gladly buy Turkish weapons if it meets our requirement. Pakistan presents a challenging terrain and conditions for any tank to operate in. Sizzling hot dusty deserts are where many modern tanks face problems. Then you have dense Web of water channels in agricultural north and marshy south in Pakistan. Both have loose soft soil especially in rainy season. Was Altay built to handle these conditions? You can better inform us.

Wait, we were ever offered Abraham tanks?Pakistan is looking for light weight combat tank. Market is full of heavy weights. Pak terrain need light and effective combat machines. Army rejected M1A1 long time ago, because of its weight and other multiple factors...
During Zia's time .Wait, we were ever offered Abraham tanks?
